I got a Question guys i will buy the Watch probably and change the Datewheel to the Modern Mikey i think thats right?

I cant mod Watches and i also dont want to destroy it or scratch it bad. But just that i can see the hole progress of changing a datewheel on the AP Diver is there any Step by Step Guide?

I am asking myself why nobody did this before i mean it would be super helpful for many people.

Please check on ap forum. Yes someone did step by step how to change the datewheel and Low beat. Please take your time and check it rather than people post it.

Well there are some old threads ona low beat but the pictures are gone you cant see them anymore. I cant find a Datwheel guide for a V7 or something.

you can buy the parts and ask local watch smith to change you for. It should be plug and play without special tools or parts needed to adapt the DW, just make sure movement is not 9015 miyota

buy the date wheel and get a modder or local shop to install. its not easy to install hands and not scratch without the correct tools.

Actually there was a video on here of exactly that. It was before the first big takedown of the site. It was enough to make me buy PM80s for all of my divers.

everyone keeps talking about low beat but nobody has ever shown a video of the two beats side by side. I have seen a low beat watch and it is not a tell, especially on the wrist imo.

Doesn't matter whether or not it is or it isn't, in the quest for perfection people will replace whatever bugs them the most.

I have just spent the last 30mins trying to see if I can spot difference in sweep between high-beat Rolex and low beat AP.....maybe it’s just me.....and perhaps the comparison is unfair (since they are different watches) but I can’t really SEE any difference. Sometimes the low-beat AP seems smoother to my eyes....it’s the same movement as the Diver.

What you think?

thank you bro mech500 I just watched my high beat JF to your gen and there is no way guys on here are going to convince me this is a "huge tell" especially on someone's wrist. That is just your insecurity making you worry about getting called out lol. It's like when you are carrying a concealed weapon, you think everyone can see it because you know its there when in reality nobody can see anything.

The sweep of the low beat 3120 is nice and really close to a high beat !
The day that one guy will tell me " Hey sir, that sweep sucks on your AP Diver ! " will never happen

that could be me, I see the difference between a Seiko SH-35 and a Miyota 9015 for example :crazy:

so this raises the question, are all low beats equal? this AP sweep is smooth while other low beat looks like it is stuttering to move. So you could put in a low beat from another watch and it ends up looking worse than before

I would say the Asian low beat is not equal to a PM80 or ETA low beat. The advantage of the low beat, besides it being the same as gen is the 60 hour power reserve.

I agree

There is more difference in sweep between various low beats than High beats. This is because when you only have a fewer beats per second in the first place any space between those beats is longer and renders the effects of poorer engineering tolerances more obvious. Back in the day when lots of makers were following Zenith by converting 28XX to 36600 they all ran very smooth and you could never tell the difference.

I am not sure bro but i suspect PM80 might be less smooth than gen 3120 due to engineering tolerances etc being poorer? I don’t know.

All I know is that AP 3120 has a very smooth sweep almost comparable to Rolex 3135 (for all intents and purposes).....I have not held a PM80 but members have reported that there is a huge difference between a2824 (high beat) sweep and PM80 sweep.....with the PM80 being visibly more “stuttering”

Personally, I think there is a risk that adding PM80 to v7/v9 could be visually taking it away from gen sweep...but like I said I haven’t held a PM80.

It’s that gen vs rep or rep vs PM80? I’m hopeless at spotting differences at that distance.

I think you can see the difference but just if you look very close.

1Meter away and you cant even see the stuttering.

And no its not a Huge tell i mean if you give someone with very good knowledge your watch in their hands and they look close maybe they could spot something but on your Wrist it's almost impossible.

I mean you can try to look at someone's wrist its really hard to be honest. We move our Arm's and even if not we rotate them etc. Also if we dont move at all. the Guy who wants to see if its real can Focus like 1-2 Seconds on the watch without being creepy (I think you all guys had that moment where you realized someones starring at your wrist we humans are very good at seeing if someone is starring at us). if you really want to test it give your watch somone else like your Wife etc. and see if you can spot something from her Wrist.

Dont overthink this too much if you have confidence and wear a Suit with a AP 15400 V3 not even a real 15400 Owner could tell if its real. "In a real life situation"

A Big problem is also we know thees issue's and we think they are visible just because WE see them at home if we look at our watches closeup as Example my DD 40 got a crooked 6 Marker and it annoys me but in reality nobody will notice it.
