some numbers are correct, but when it comes to 1, 2, 3.... 10 they fail. Side by side you would notice the magnifying crystal and a thinner Mickey modern DW font will make the number look bigger and not so bold at all.

Okay but as Repworld already said the font on the gen is really close to the V9 but Repworld

On the white one, the black surround of the DW is wrong, it should be white. But easy fix when you have it apart to put the Mikey DW in.

Although AP's website shows the date surround as white, all the ones I see for sale show it as black. So who knows what it is really supposed to be.

Black DW sorrounding is right. The new 2017 white model got a white surrounding but almost every white 2015 15710ST got the black sorrounding - so i think it is a thing of batches as always with AP and other brands... silent updates here and there.

I think black is bette because of more contrast added and maximize the readability.

But what about the Font? The Mikey Datewheel is probably far better?

I actually don't even see it listed on AP's website anymore. Here is a link to the Legacy model, and that had white date surround.

like i already said - the Font is correct on some numbers like all up from 20 but still too bold.

Then the other numbers are in a wrong font.. Mickey DW is 100% like the gen. Easy mod IMO

yeah i knew what you meant. But there are so many White divers out there - just google it and you won't find more than a handful wrist shots with a white DW surrounding i guess

Where can I buy a mickey datewheel and how much is it?

I really like the V9. With the new datewheel it definitely is a super rep IMO

Can anyone tell if the rotating bezel numerals are improved. On previous versions the bezel numerals were not crisp around the edges like gen.

That's the gen dw you posted alongside the modern and the v9.

V9 the digits are too far apart and if you look at the shape of the 8 it's totally wrong.

It doesn't matter anyway because the watch beats needs a low beat conversion to be closer to gen, so just pop on a mikey datewheel then and away you go

everyone keeps talking about low beat but nobody has ever shown a video of the two beats side by side. I have seen a low beat watch and it is not a tell, especially on the wrist imo.

Actually there was a video on here of exactly that. It was before the first big takedown of the site. It was enough to make me buy PM80s for all of my divers.

Doesn't matter whether or not it is or it isn't, in the quest for perfection people will replace whatever bugs them the most.

Nobody will notice the difference because barely anybody will ever look at your watch anyway let alone know beat rates. I even forget to look at other people's watches sometimes!

And now as it is the perfect base for a mikey DW mod and got the right tapisserie pattern i have to pull the trigger...

I'm wondering what is so difficult about repping the font of the gen DW... I mean they had to make a new DW for the 2824 version so why don't they put a bit more effort into it and print something decent...

Anyway - easy fix.
