The date font, shiny rehaut and dial color looks good for me. Only the dial print seems bad.

I think also the case thickness is not noticable because 9,5mm fits well with this bracelet.

So there is no major flaws except the dial print. I think this JF version acceptable near super rep. Do you?

Absolutely not. For the aforementioned reasons. As has been mentioned a lot, the oversized hand base alone is a deal breaker .. for me. Printing too

Not even close to a super rep, man. There's too many details about this release that look cheap (even when compared to those on an Armani/Hugo Boss/etc fashion watch).

I get that there's a realistic limit to how thin they can get a case, but the 15202's defining feature is how thin it is. Its full name is literally "ROYAL OAK “JUMBO” EXTRA-THIN". From that point of view, they'd have been better repping the 15300 as their 39mm model - it's 9.4mm thick, which is a hell of a lot closer to the 9.5mm JF managed to achieve here.

That, alongside. The printing, date window font, and huge cannon pinion, are all instant tells. I didn't initially notice how big the hands were where they connect to the pinion, but I can't unsee it now. Totally throws off the whole proportions of the watch.

Negatory little buddy. Bad dial printing makes anything look cheap, be it a $100 Armani or an almost $500 rep masquerading as a $25k watch.

It's not like I'm comparing reliability/construction methods of a mass-produced fashion watch against a replica illegally assembled in a factory, I'm attempting to comprehend the difficultly in printing (an albeit textured) dial, especially when the factory has had four versions worth of practice (and complaints) about something that the guys knocking out a $139 quartz are able to do a better job of.

Iam not sure about the thickness I don't believe it's 9.5 mm because if I that would be so "easy" they would do it on the 15400

Yeah. Having the movement accommodate a second hand in the 15400 is going to add a bit of extra thickness, but not a whole 1mm.

simple answer - if you don't compare this and this - just don't compare it or point out what you are referring to - generalizations never work.

And again (call me a JF fan boy or what ever) - nobody received their watch yet and even on the gen there can be inconsistencies.

So - can we please knock it off and don't point out the minor "printing failure" every page? It's getting lame.

Eh? "Just don't think about the issues" - is that what you're advocating here? The printing issues are widely documented on the 15400, so until someone has this in their hands, comparing it is all we have.

Yeah, except I wasn't blindly parroting the same "hurr durr printing" that's been stated previously in the thread. I was directly answering another user's question as to why this won't be considered a super rep. He asked, I answered, you chimed in with attitude.

Get the point that this whole thing has nothing to do with armani watches. And i was simply referring to your answer regarding the super rep post - that it has nothing to do with those fashion watches - if you want to compare it in some specific aspects - do it and dont generalize - thats all i said.

I never said that we dont have to adress the issues like they were not there.

Sarcasm doesnt work on the net Tigerdragon - am i right? Hehe
I‘m out - nothing left to say :)

i would call the printing on the 15400 a minor issue but on the 15202 i don't know it looks cheap compared to the 15400 (and i like the watch).

Alright man, I'll be sure to run my replies by you first to see if they fit your oddly specific criteria.

Too bad the dial print is so rough on this release and the rotor is so distant from the original and the hands are an eye sore. But: Nice that they got it down to 9.6mm. I think it will be a long time before they improve the other parts. In the meantime, people will have an ok base to start 15202 Frankens.

Can the factories just swallow their pride and make a high end quartz in the correct thickness? It’s so strange to me that they would make all this investment in a watch that’s 25% too thick, just so people can see a flawed rotor when it’s off the wrist.

I know, “people don’t buy quartz reps”. They don’t buy them because a ticking second hand is literally the first tell anybody learns about. No second hand, no problem.

heaps of people bought the 139USD quartz from Sead which is, at this point in time, a way better, savvy purchase than this pos

time will tell, we can only hope for a much better vX but they could as well say that sales didnt go well so we are not improving it. Vicious loop.

For sure. I’d love to spend an extra hundo on one with a bracelet / screws as nicely finished as my JF 15450
