Anyone ordered from James Lee lately?

I managed to get a refund, though he insists that the bag is still coming. It would be nice to be able to make sense of all this, but there's really no good explanation for why no bags seem to be getting delivered. I ordered a bag from toro and I bet that it is here within a week, as JL seems to be the only one with these kinds of difficulties.

Can anyone who has received email from JL do me a favour.

Look at the (your) local time of reception and then expand the header (tools: full header) and check the corresponding "X-Originating" send time of that email.

Does it relate to the Hong Kong time? i.e your local time + or - the timezone difference.

Mine shows an error that J puts down to the use of VPN

Thanks

Just an update: JL assured me about two weeks ago that the bag was still coming, even though he gave me a refund (which was short $15, which I kind of found to be a dick move). It should come as no surprise that no bag ever showed up. In addition to that, I have received a ton of emails since starting this thread from people who have ordered from JL within the last couple of months and not received anything. I would advise that no one send this dude any more money until he gets stuff sorted out.

I'm not even sure that he's really trying to "scam" people, but here's my theory. This all started around the post-CNY government crackdowns. I think JL's supplier may have gotten shut down, leaving him with no source for bags. Rather than not taking orders until this got sorted out, I think he continued to take orders hoping that he could find a suitable new source soon enough that he could still get bags sent out without the damage to his business that refusing orders for a period of weeks or months would do. Of course this is all conjecture, but this is the only explanation I can come up with for his complete failure to deliver on his orders along with other behavior that is suggestive of his not being out to scam people (refusing new customers, saying certain items were unavailable, etc).

Either way, the dude is clearly not being forthright with buyers, which I don't think is acceptable. Toro and Sead can get good bags, and you won't have to deal with this kind of headache since they're trusted dealers. I hope JL gets his shit together, but at this point I think it may have piled up too high as there are a lot of people out there who have sent considerable sums of money without receiving anything.

I'm another disgruntled customer. I ordered in January and received a dirty, hideous bag in March. When I complained he assured me that he would fix the problem and send out a proper bag. Forty one emails later, filled with promises I might add-still no bag! In the mean time, I have ordered from two other Chinese rep bag dealers multiple times and have never received my bags in more than 9 days from the time of order. There really should be no EMS excuses on his part. No one else has issues. I would suggest everyone stay away from James Lee.

He is a scam and I am going to make sure that he is blacklisted on every site, I paid him in February and have no bag or refund.

I just feel really fortunate that I was able to get most of my money back, and I really feel for everyone who's gotten shafted. I was comfortable ordering from him because he had such a good reputation, but I guess there really is wisdom in always ordering from TDs.

Weirdest scam I ever heard of. Accepts PayPal, delivers some stuff, refunds others.

Anyway, I've asked for the dhl shipping to happen this week. I think if I don't get a tracking number by mid next week, then I will have to force a refund. I do hope that I don't have to.

I hope not too, but I expect that you will. I agree with your general sentiment, but the issue is that it seems to be very, very rare that he delivers anything these days.

Like I said, my theory is that JL began having serious difficulty sourcing bags after the government crackdowns. I think he scaled things back a bit hoping to keep his business alive while he tried to find a new source, which didn't really pan out as he probably hoped. That's the only explanation I can come up with to make sense of this.

As for all the shipping difficulties getting bags out of China...LOL. I ordered a keepall from Toro, he shipped it on Tuesday, it showed up on tracking immediately and was delivered on Saturday. JL's blaming of his 95+% failure rate on shipments to customs and the use of a proxy shipping service has to be bullshit. Not a single other bag dealer is having these problems or using "proxy shippers," which just seems to be a convenient way for him to shift blame to another party when customers get pissed.

Ok guys just a quick update, I have been traveling but have been keeping contact with JL, I have zero, so read ZERO connection to him in his business just to be clear, I just try my best to contact JL for you in any given case something goes wrong, now I'm not a magical fairy so you need to contact me first if you're having contact problems.

Now, there have been numerous problems in shipping like some have mentioned, JL provided me tracking information on some of the parcels and they indeed went missing, why? No damn idea, lol, but they did so he's not making this up, I can tell you that much. Refunds have been made, took some time but they were made.

I also received some disturbing information some people have been posting personal information to his partner where he ships from EU, guys keep it civil, there is no need for threats and I have offered to help when something goes FUBAR, I might not reply immediately but rest assured I have read your message and contacted JL regarding your inquiry.

Last but not least, feel free to contact me regarding any inquiries on this, it's god damn frustrating but it's the least I can do.

It seems that one of our members has decided to tell PayPal that JL is selling replica bags via his PP account.

You absolute f'n idiot.

At the moment his pp account is still up and running. I will remain skeptical of any reports from JL that his account has been shut down or anything like that as it seems a convenient excuse to avoid giving refunds.

Provide the evidence!

Post what he is saying if he is fool enough to want it in the public domain or PM the evidence to who you believe has done such a thing.

Then you will know who is feeding you what they want you to say.

This guy is a clever manipulator and I certainly wouldn't call someone taken in by him and lost their money an idiot.

I heard the story too but the account is open, never closed and therefore nothing ever said to paypal.

Think about it!.

Guys, I am not getting into any mudslinging match. If James is a master manipulator, then I'll gladly say I am wrong. As for the information provided as to one of us and the content of the PP dispute, here is James' reply. Note he is being diplomatic and it is I who removed the members name.
Can we all just try to relax, and see what happens.
And no, I am not James' rep, friend, associate, or anything else. I'm a guy with $500-odd reasons to get this sorted.

From James re PP:
Well i have spoke to mods about *RWI MEMBER* and i did refund him and i am still sending his bag.
What he did was to write long email to paypal ( in his dispute ).

He did write that i pretend selling bags sent from China etc. Paypal then did freeze our account saying we are selling replica items sent from china! my partner had to send several papers and make up emails to make sure that they did release the funds that were frozen. Again , this has been fixed and *RWI MEMBER* has closed the dispute when he was refunded. And this should realy not get bigger .You know with forums information can get twisted and get out of hand.

Also another thing was that *RWI MEMBER* went paranoid saying , why are you in Euope etc etc. I kept telling him i am not in Europe my Paypal partner is because i cant have paypal in China . Also that i use VPS to be able to surf better.
Any ways. Sorry for long email. lets put this behind us and take care of what is important.

I honestly didn't make this thread intending to start a witch hunt. When I started it, and for the first few pages as my posts suggest, I was really optimistic that my bag would arrive and I was looking for reassurance that that was the case, because I really want to believe JL. He's nothing if not diplomatic. But as time went on there was just less and less reason to continue believing him, especially when more and more people came out of the woodwork, both in this thread and via pm, saying that they had also sent him hundreds of dollars and received nothing but a lot of conciliatory emails and excuses.

I really think people should exercise a lot of restraint in opening PP disputes, and certainly in mentioning anything about fakes, if they can get a refund out of the guy. But there are still a lot of people that he hasn't refunded, so I understand where the frustration and animosity is coming from.

I'm also highly skeptical about JL's accounts of what people have done re: paypal, ashe seems very nice and adept at making himself seem like the good guy in this situation, but with me he doesn't have any damn credibility at this point as he's been lying to me and others from day one. He didn't tell me about these "issues" which apparently had been going on for months when I placed my order, and the stories about missing packages and proxy shipping don't make any sense. If every other replica bag dealer in China can take a bag, stuff it in a padded China Post envelope and slap an EMS sticker on it and have it here in 5 business days, why can't he? I'm not convinced when his response to this question is "I don't know." At best he is not being completely forthright, but he seems to be being intentionally deceptive. If he would just own up to whatever the situation is, I would have a lot more sympathy for him, but as of yet he refuses to do so.

45acp this is not your fault, it's a situation that went FUBAR, now if it's true a member opened a PP dispute then you screwed everyone waiting for a refund, sideways. I'll check on this.

And for people thinking I' m being manipulated by someone, think again, I'm merely providing a steady contact with JL, so think what you want, it only adds to the deluded, paranoid nature some people have when purchasing counterfeit goods. He is not a trusted dealer so I could just say screw it and let this thing sort itself out or go down the drain, but I'm here to try and provide as much help as I can because you are RWI members and it's your money, so it's not something that weights light on my conscience as I posted the small review. Have a good one gents.

ANYONE who suggests that Guanaco would be influenced by or shilling for a dealer, trusted or not will have me to answer to. Guana is as honest as the day is long and is going out of his way to help here simply because he is a fine and upstanding member of this community. It's not our problem but he is still doing his best to bring this to a happy ending for all concerned.

If I hear anything about his honesty or reputation being called into disrepute I will be very displeased indeed and action will be taken. Is that clear?

Was this directed at me? I didn't open a PP dispute, nor did I encourage anyone else to do so. I hope I didn't screw anyone over by starting and contributing to this thread, I did so in the interest of transparency and being able to talk with others about what was going on.

I also hope I didn't give the impression that you were being manipulated, as that wasn't my intention. I think everyone got into this situation with the best of intentions, and it's safe to say that in a number of respects it hasn't been handled as it should have been at a number of junctures, and not just by JL.

I really hope nothing I said was perceived as a slight to Guanaco, who has been extremely helpful and gracious throughout this whole thing.

I did ask a question over on the RG chatbox about shilling, but that had nothing to do with the whole JL situation, it has to do with a member on RG who frequently posts advertisements for a certain dealer asking people to mention his name when buying from that dealer. Just struck me as odd that as strict as things are over there that that would be tolerated, but I digress.

No, I don't believe it was but if the seller wants to play then fine. I am taking this to PM and have PM'd Col.

Having said that I have just received an email from JL explaining that everyone has now received their money and case closed although his english has changed from superb to pidgin.

"I think i have showed all this were honest misstakes and also everyone
involved have been refunded , recived order or reciving order. Also i
did my self take first step contacting mods to make sure all will be
handled ."
