Whenever I see this thread under new posts, I don’t know whether this is ‘Another Moonswatch metal case project’ or the same one

Just received an answer. The Ω logo is printed. Therefore I‘ll have to wait for the 2nd, 3rd,… version.I have just received für pics from 1965.
I have asked to get a better pic from the Ω logo (3D or printed).

Don’t wait…those things don’t cost much.
With a white dial, combinations are really many
I ordered one of these 1965’s , pretty cheap really, and if they DO improve the Omega logo, well I will decide then if I like it enough to buy the better version. Can always gift it anyways.

The caseback looks plastic and cheap, in my opinion..Just received an answer. The Ω logo is printed. Therefore I‘ll have to wait for the 2nd, 3rd,… version.

ahhh.. my mistake.. makes sense now! I thought that was the actual 1965 Moonswatch
Aren't we talking about a cheap replica of a Moonswatch?

The focus of this thread is the Moonswatch conversion into a metal case. Therefore most of us don't care about the plastic case/caseback.

True.. I did not realize most are using Rep Moonswatch for metal mods..The focus of this thread is the Moonswatch conversion into a metal case. Therefore most of us don't care about the plastic case/caseback.
Unfortunately the originals are not made to be serviceable, other than changing the battery, in order to remove the movement the watch case has to be destroyed. With the replicas the back of the watch is removable allowing the movement to be easily removed.
Below are a couple of videos showing both versions being used for metal case builds.

In my opinion it only makes sense to convert a genuine one if it has already been damaged, YMMV.
After receiving it today, I can see why you said this... Ah well, the experiment continues.
I am looking for the current Speedmaster style bracelet (like on the WD1863). Do anybody of you where I can get this? I didnt found this strap on Ali and DHGate. Thanks!

The best option is Uncle Straps
You won’t have the Omega logo but the US has a U logo that looks faintly like the old style vintage Omega logo…and the bracelets are just awesome

So i have to consider this. Looks like a WD1863 would be a good metal case project base with the bracelet.
Because the UncleSeiko bracelet comes for around 120.

I bought one for my Railmaster and one for my 1957. Zero regrets.
Also I had some spare old rep vintage Omega clasps covers, so I replaced them. Now I have two awesome bracelets for my Omegas

No guarantee it will fit the case but It's worth the risk I guess
