By the way, the picture is not out of focus, there are no holes.
I cannot even imagine the quality of more complicated items. :D

@Ko67 - I had the same problem with the holes not being deep enough. More like tiny dents on mine. It sounds like the earlier orders came out okay. But i think Bonesey may have an idea on how to get it to work better on the next version.

Yep, total rubbish. Same problem here.
Sorry to say but I cannot believe RWI has a sticky thread for such a crappy item.... I should have read each single post.

Gents,

First of all my apologies for not updating this post sooner. It appears that some of you have had rather dissapointing results from the 3D printing company that I set this up with.

For that I can only apologise unreservedly. I have been very very AFK from the hobby and from the forum for a while now and I was unaware of these problems.

As soon as I get a chance I will upload the files to an online storage location for people to download free of charge.

Thanks and regards,

~B.

Sorry to revive a 13mo post... But I just don't understand with 3D scanning, CAD & CNC machines why isn't there an accurate SeaDweller & Submariner case-set (or ANY case, from any manufacturer) that's available and affordable?

Even without a 3D scanner, someone can take accurate measurements & make a (CAD) file for CNC or even for just a 3D printer... The plastic "prototype" from the printer can then be sent to a case maker.

The few German case makers/companies I spoke to had a min order, but the cost was only about $100 US.

And you can even forget the bezel to simplify things, since companies like Clark's have accurate, affordable replacements.

If anyone has a Gen Sub or SeaDweller and interested in having some 100% accurate reps made or would like to get involved, please let me know! Or if you're willing to make a mold?, maybe using something like the rubbery stuff the dentist uses? Even just plaster? Or accurately measure every area & make some traces, I think there would be a HUGE market for it (99-100% accurate case).
