As promised, here are some pics of the first pair of glasses that came in today. Very impressed by the quality of these. They are just as solid as gen 2140 wayfarers, with actual glass G15 lenses. There were some fit and finish issues, but hey, these cost $35, so who cares?

They came in a box that felt the same, and looked the same as my gen pair, with all the proper labels on the outside.

Here's everything that came with it. I took the plastic off the glasses, and took them out of a RayBan plastic bag they were in.

The case looks and feels better than the case that came with my gen pairs. It's a little darker, the texture is actually better, and the text is just as sharp. Pretty surprising

The frames had some issues with sharp edges, some that would normally be heavily beveled or rounded. The brow portion, is a little too flat, accentuated by the sharp points at each corner. This is easily fixed with a little DIY though. It still looks very close to gen as is. The RayBan logo on the glass is perfect, and so are the logos on the temples.

The seven layered hinges are solid, and same as gen.

All markings are correct, and crisp, on the inside of the arms.

The RB etching in the glass is exactly like my gen pair.

Is it just me or do the arms on these not seem like they fit the frame?

Or is the 2140 supposed to be like this, and the 2132's have the arms that look like they fit?

I have purchased ties on AE and EBAY shipped from china. Quality is decent for the price, but all of the ties are too wide. 3.75" inches is too wide for a modern man and at almost 4 inches would look ridiculous on a skinny guy. I am average and a 3" is normal these days and style websites recommend 3.25" is the limit.

Search skinny tie. Sometimes you'll find some decent ones that are 3". Avoid the Elvis Costello ones though. I tried it once I ended up looking like a hipster.

one item of my last 4 items (bought on the same day) was delivered in 7 workdays. I ordered a cycling jersey, 3 sunglasses and a baseball cap. The Cap was the first item, all other three items are still not delivered. I'll post a pic asap.

By the way, did anybody here bought one of those back to the future caps like marty mcfly used to wear them in 2015 in the second movie? like this one, for example?

That's because those corners are usually rounded down, towards the arms. When I reshaped the frames, I did that, and they look perfect now. I trimmed the bridge down, and rounded the corners, until it was the same as my gen pair

Should make a little tutorial on how you did that and what you used to do it :)

It's actually pretty simple. Get a few grades of sandpaper (I was using wood sandpaper), about a medium grit (to cut through the plastic), a slightly lighter grit (to smooth out the scratch marks), and a very light grit (to fully smooth). I polished them with my trusty can of cape cod cloth

1. Use the heaviest grit sandpaper, to start shaping the glasses. Use a gen pair to see where you need to remove acetate from the frames. Really round out the top of the frames.

2. When you have almost achieved the perfect shape, start sanding with the second lightest grit sandpaper. Work the scratches out using circular buffing. When the deepest scratches are out, move onto the lightest grit paper.

3. When finished the sanding, you want to make sure the surface is as smooth as possible. After using the light grit paper to smooth out the scratches from the heavier grit, you'll want to wet sand the frame. Run some water over the shades, and softly sand the frame in a circular motion. Do this until the surface is smooth, and without scratches.

4. At this point, you'll want to dry off the glasses, and inspect the sanding. If it's smooth, move onto this step, if not, wet sand some more. Once the frames are dry, put on some gloves, and take out some cape cod cloth. You'll want to heavily polish the top with these, for 5-10 minutes, or until they have a matching gloss with the rest of the shades.

Now I don't know the grades of sand paper I used, but since this is plastic, buy some very light grit paper. It'll make it easily for you when you go to polish the frame later.

Hope this helps someone

Ive converted most of all the lights in my house to LED bulbs. COSTCO had the best prices at the time @ around $6 per bulb. You can find them cheaper now on AE at around $3 a bulb.

I have a few more bulbs to replace like inside my fridge and I have a desk lamp that requires a B22 socket and found an LED bulb for it...

My house is 100 yrs old so I have some of these LED edison bulbs too :)
