Did you figure out how to fill the MB fountain pen, I am curious, wanted to know the process before buying one, thanks
GetSomeMoney, different pens can have different ways of holding ink - and therefore different ways of filling. The two MB pens that I got from AE have piston-style converters. See a description of the filling technique for those here: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/...of-research?p=2206442&viewfull=1#post-2206442

If this is your first venture into the fun world of fountain pens, I would also suggest reading up on their proper care and maintenance, as they require a bit more time and effort than ballpoints... but it's worth it.

I had the Peugeot Wine Key here for a bit. Very interesting.. We make a lot of wine and we tested it on homemade and retail brands. Lots of experienced wine drinkers noted it does "something". Some interesting science behind it relating to how involved our olfactory sense is with taste. Fun tool!

Cool. Can you PM me the link to it when you get around to it? No rush.

Yes, aeration makes a huge difference with every wine, including whites. It really opens them up. That guy from Microsoft said you can literally turn an otherwise meh bottle into something very palatable just through aeration. He also recommends tossing a dash of salt into the glass. No joke. He did it at a party he was at where they were drinking $1k and $2k bottles just to make a point. It immediately alters the structure of the wine and the flavor profile. He didn't suggest that you should toss salt into every glass of wine, but it was just an experiment to show how something really basic like that can really shake up the flavor and experience.

Thank you, I have a MB Rollerball coming in from AE, I wanted to see the quality first and if everything checks out I will look at other MB pens

Back to the wine aerator, very interesting. I looked it up on AE, however, I have some reservations.

Not to sound like a wuss but, I wonder what type of plastics the Chinese use to make these things?

I'm not sure I'd run my wine through something made in China, it may be toxic. I looked up some wine aerators on Amazon, of couse they area lot more expensive but it was stated that FDA approved plastic is used in the manufacture. I wonder if the Amazon ones are made in China too though. Nowadays everything is.

This thread has opened a whole new world to me. I've always avoided AE before, but things are looking good based on reviews etc. I think I will give a few things a try....

It's probably made with polycarbonate. The type used to make clear sports water bottles & bulletproof shields.
Hard transparent plastics are usually quite safe.
When they add crap into the mix ... they become less transparent.

So I did some research regarding the wine aerator, there's one called "Zazzle" sold on Amazon that's gotten great reviews and guess what - made in China. Sells for $30.

Went back to AliExpress and found a bunch of them that looked a lot like the Zazzle, but had a different brand name, selling for around $10. I'm thinking of getting one of those from AE.

Rek - i dont know what the material of mine is made out of. All i know is that honestly a vast majority of all consumer goods are made in china these days. I am sure that there is some level of control as to what materials are used. Or maybe that is just my wishful thinking.

In any case - the 5 dollar one i got looks great and really does work nicely. Hek at these prices, try them both out and see which one you like more.

Ruski91 I know you said you had other items coming in from AE, do you have any other MB pens coming in, I am wondering about the quality of the replica resin (black) MB pens, I heard in the past the older reps would chip, I am wondering were the quality is now.
