So you ordered of BaseTao? How complicated was to use? Do you have to send them the money before you even purchase anything? Better to order in bulk or less?

Hey all, so I ordered some Oliver Peoples Riley-K in light tortoise a long time ago. They were about $60AUD including lenses. SO ******* cheap, my last pair of glasses were $400AUD including lenses - bought locally. The quality of the glasses were as good as my expensive ones, and the lenses - to me - looked better, I'm guessing because all of the ali stores use aspheric lenses and the ones I got locally are spherical. Anyway, I wore them for a few months but I was unhappy with them - the shape looked kind of girly to me so I went looking to buy some Gregory Pecks.
Now it was hard for me to decide, there's so many to choose from but I found a couple of stores that had started offering some higher quality Oliver Peoples, so I ordered some Gregory Pecks from 1 store for me, and some Sir Finley (for me) and O'Malley (for my wife) form another store.
The Gregory Pecks were perfect, as good as the real deal - however these higher quality ones are 47mm (sunglasses size), I can pull it off with my massive head but a part of me wishes I'd purchased a lower quality pair that were slightly smaller.
The Sir Finleys - they didn't come with the signature engraves metal arm inserts like the store page promised! The glasses are great but I wish they had those arm inserts like the O'Malley/Gregory Pecks.
The O'Malleys - My wife is + prescription, they came with -! When I complained they said the prescription was right and that +/- doesn't matter. Aliexpress sided with the store so I had to create a series of images to explain the difference between long and short sightedness and eventually got a full refund. Now, these were also the sunglasses size instead of regular size, and my wife's head isn't as big as mine so I sent these to a different store and got some prescription polarized lenses put in for me.
Now all 3 stores I used have closed down, so I can't post any links, but I'll post more pictures below and the basic idea of this post is, if you wear glasses, just order online. From China.

O'Malleys with polarized 1.67 lenses, wound up costing $150 total - I got quotes from every optician in Sydney and they all quoted between $450 and $850 for 1.67 aspheric polarized lenses only.

Did you ever specify the exact source of these? And can you tell me the process for getting the prescription via these sellers? Geez...that word prescription scares me when used in conjunction with "Chinese Counterfeit"

BaseTao is quite easy to use, I've personally done 3 quite large hauls from there. They have good service and speak quite good English.
The downside is the you have to pay first, however with something a bit more complex like personalisation, it definitely helps to have someone who speaks Chinese doing it rather than bumbling around with Google translate.
And I just bought one unit. If you want to bulk buy try 1688.

What you mean the exact source? The stores all got closed. You just send them your prescription and they do it. The people selling counterfeits on Ali aren't generally business, they're people trying to earn side income and such, 90% of them will just take your glasses to an opticians and have them put your prescription in.
The glasses shops on Ali generally steer clear of counterfeits.
Enter Twilight Zone music. You posted pics of counterfeit merchandise that you got from somewhere and love. I asked for the source and process. You replied in the world's most contradictory way- putting me absolutely nowhere closer to getting my own pair of these glasses.

Only quote I got was from "Uncle Bench" at $200 which when I asked if it was his best price he was quite rude... Also read a lot on the web about them being scammers of some sort...

You know what's crazy, I never knew those belts were real. I always thought that style of the H were some cheap knockoff style that they created.
I always encountered them on Ali, but always said "there goes that fake wannabe Hermes belt"
Now I know, I'll double check the belts I've inquired in the past

One thing I always recommend people to do before purchasing on Ali is request pictures/get a vibe from the vendor.
Lol, gotta love when they tell you that their image for the product is a real picture...but you notice more than 1 vendor have that same identical picture [emoji23][emoji23]
In this case, I doubt I'll purchase from them simply based off their fuckery
