The problem is that the squinting is your eyes being protected. With sunglasses with no uv protection your eyes(pupils) stay much more open. This is damaging over time.
You can buy a very inexpensive uv400 tester(even on aliexpress). I would not use sunglasses without uv protection

My grandfather spent his last 4 years lying on a couch, blind, because of using no sunglasses or cheap ones.

Yes, you want the UV400, or 100% protection. But.. Cheap sunglasses CAN have this. Lens quality and and UV protection are two different things. I have talked extensively to my optometrist here at my work about it.. Being an ex beach lifeguard, I have extremely sensitive eyes from damaging them from making that sunglasses tan go away.. So, $5 dollar pairs can have complete UV protection as well.. Lens quality most likely will suffer, but that doesn't mean you are protected. You know when your glasses do not have UV protection. It hurts your eyes after awhile. Have you ever got sunburn on your eyes? You didn't have 100% UV protection on.. Do the AE reps have UV protection? Not sure.. My does. Most WILL. You just have to be careful, and make sure. If you're not sure, bring them into an eye glass place and ask if they can test it.. I don't see why they wouldn't? But IDK.. Just don't get lens quality and UV protection confused.. The better lens have BETTER clarity.. That's what you are most likely paying for.. Take it from someone who has to wear tinted glasses at night to see.. Dumb things you do as a teen trying to pick up the ladies.. But also wear them at your own expense! All sunglasses I wear I bring them to my optometrist to test.

Yep.. He closed up shop. From either AE, or another reason. Mind sharing what the item was?

Good luck.. I don't think the dispute will do anything honestly. Maybe let it expire and find a new shop??

Too bad these aren't accurate to gen. They have metal on the bridge, which the gen doesn't seem to have.

Edit: Did some research and found out that these are accurate to gen, but they are the wrong model if you want the 007 sunglasses.

I never track anything from Ali, just get annoyed when nothing shows up. So, I just wait, and if the protection is running out, I start a dispute. I haven´t had to do this many times, and I am at atleast 150 delivered orders.

It´s fun to follow the purchases of fellow members all over the world. So different tastes we have, so different interests! Love it!
