I just ordered 4 x RL polos, some of those anil rep bracelets , and a man Utd home kit.

Just when I thought I was over the whole Ali thing, it pulls me back in......
Make sure you set fire to the man United kit upon arrival ;-)

I need to sell my new Elephone P8000 model smart phone. Its a large 5.5" 1080p HD screen, the camera is awesome too. I do love it but it doesnt work on the fastest networks in the USA. It also has 3 GB RAM + 16GB ROM and octocore processors. As a replacement, I purchased a Samsung S5 and the P8000 blows it away! I'll try to put it up for sale on ebay.

I paid $160+shipping for my chinese Elephone which I thought was an awesome deal (still is). I was thinking how do these companies on AE make any money selling things so cheap? Well Im sure they are making a tidy profit. I just finished watching the new documentary "Steve Jobs: the Man in the Machine" (2015) and near the end there was a quote..."The profit on every iPhone 4 was well over $300, yet Apple paid its Chinese companies only $12 to buy each phone."

Thats right. $12 per iPhone. WOW.

Yep.. Who's the crooks in the story.. But about the phone it's all about the numbers sold. One million X 15 dollars or more..

Yeah really. Apple has been selling around 30 million phones per quarter since 2012 (now selling over 50 mill each quarter of 2015). If Foxconn, which is Apples main supplier, is only making $2 per phone they are still pulling in half a billion a year. It adds up!

The cost per phone figures never factor in the true cost (r&d, software, etc.), only hardware. Also, Apple has hardware engineers that work with Foxconn (the phone manufacturer) to develop the manufacturing techniques and the machines used in manufacturing. Apple doesn't simply send "specs" to foxconn and they magically make it.

Beats headphones are made for < $7 of materials and sold for $300+. Since there's nothing 'revolutionary' or 'proprietary' on Beats, the R&D costs and other costs are low. That's highway robbery. Apple now owns beats though...

Here's something I don't get. I have a friend who waited in line to buy the new iphone 6+ when it came out and he paid something like $700 for it. Probably more, actually. I can get the iphone 6 (not the plus) right now at Sam's Club with contract at Sprint for $100 maybe? Why do you have to have it immediately? I get my phones on Black Friday every time I'm up for renewal for $0.97. That's what I paid for my Galaxy S4 the year it came out and I'll get the Galaxy S6 for $0.97 in a couple of months. I can save a crap load of money by waiting. Totally worth it, in my mind.

Yep I never understood those people waiting in line.. Under tents etc..

I usually buy my phone when it's out a few months.

What I do, I sell mine a month or two before a new one come out like that the value doesn't drop to much. I use a temporary phone and buy the next one when it's out for a month or two

$700 for a factory unlocked device that is free to go on any network provider. The one from sprint is locked to only work on sprint, and it costs a small fortune to unlock a device.

In Canada, we have discount carriers that offer plans at 1/2 of the price of the major carriers that officially support the iphone. Buying the phone at full price ($600-700) and using their service is actually more cost effective than signing a contract for a $100-200 iphone and paying $120 a month for service (vs $50).

But about waiting in line, my brother waited in line for the iPhone 5s with the intention of selling the devices on ebay for a profit to wealthy people overseas who wouldn't see the iphone land in their market for months. Interestingly enough, he actually sold his place in line (he was 5th) for $1200! He didn't even have to go through the hassle of fronting the cash for the units and selling them.

Wow...didn't know you guys pay so much for your contracts. I bought the S6 Edge when it came out new, paid 200€ with a contract wich costs me 35€ per moth (2GB LTE/4G Highspeed, calling flatrate and sms flatrate).

I found the boxers fit funny. There's almost no room sewed in for your ass...

Yep!! Seller is insisting that mine are the right size, but there's no way they're a large! They're probably a medium or small.

I bought a ton of these CK boxer briefs from one of the older rep sites (before Ali became a thing) and the fit was weird as described. They ended up all falling apart, logos coming off, etc. Not a big deal since only myself and my woman see it - but in the end I just went out and bought some Ralph Lauren real boxer briefs from Sears haha.

All the undies I've tried from Ali are garbage.

Either falling apart or no room for your ass or not holding your parts together etc..

I think people in the US need to do the math on these phones. The day of the carrier subsidized phone will be or has, come to an end.. well sort of. Getting a phone for zero down or .98 down and paying for it in your plan for 2 years, add it up and see what you really pay.

I bought my 1+1 off contract for 375.00 (that included freight, phone, charger and case)out right. I figured out that AT&T was going to charge me 25.00-28.00/Month for the phone I wanted anyway, so I bought the 1+ and will keep or flip it when I want to move on. It's all perspective, you will pay for the phone one way or another. Outright or payment plan.

Scenario of selling in October
Bought phone Jan 12 2015 375.00 Paid.

Sell phone Oct 12 2015 225.00 (Average $$$ price today is 275.00 on Swappa in good condition)

Difference/Depreciation/Cost of Ownership is 150.00 roughly. 10 Months use.. 15.00/Month.

Same scenario selling in September 12th of this year... Say I sell for 260.00. 115.00 Difference (12.77/Month)

Same scenario, use phone for 24 months and give it to a homeless man. 11.45/Month
