Actually Raddave is 100% correct. Race is a social categorization based on physical attributes. Race is a poor form of categorization because humans are so mixed there are no specific genetic makeup which separate groups. And the use of race only leads to unfair treatments, stigma, assumptions.
What you were referring to was ethnicity or culture.
What trasher posted was not racist, it's possible to construe it as prejudice. But given the context and what I know about Thrasher I would say not.

I don’t think it is a good idea to put the details out there as to how the scam operates. Just my opinion. To me, you are just asking for more people to do the same thing....
That may be a reason you are seeing it happen more. The same watches thing is kind of weird, but still. I would give as little detail as possible as to the methods of how he is doing this and stick to providing details of how to track this piece of shit down.

It has nothing to do with Romanians. Sorry. It has to do with a family network of thieves. I guess there are no large groups of gypsies that travel around Europe in Caravans and victimize the local communities. I'm sure I have some Romanian blood to its irrelevant. What I was trying to say is either this guy moves from country to country or it's a family network.

Just for information the Romani are a specific ethnic group not a nationality, they have their own culture and language. They were called Gypsies in Europe because they were mistakenly thought to have originated in Egypt. As far as I know they originally came from India (It is possible the Celts and Aryans did too but I am not an anthropologist nor would want to get involved in that debate) They are one of the many nomadic groups. Over time some have integrated into other ethnic groups. In Ireland our ethnic nomadic group are known as the Travelers (They call us country people). Their language or "Canting" is an amalgam of Irish, English and Romani.
I know very little about this but I do consider @manodeoro comment on xenophobia does apply as the Romani/Roma are a specific ethnic group. These comments would be akin to saying "all Irish are pigs" (not my quote it was Princess Margaret I believe). Just remember some Lawyers/ Accountants embezzle that does not mean they all do. Some Irish people drink to excess that does not mean they all do etc etc.
