The one with the black ring on the inside IS gen. It has the open 6 and 9 and they are actually very rare to find for the 3135 because open 6 and 9 was on the 3035 movement so it must have been a very short transition period that they used these for 3135. Its a really nice part to have on hand if you are building an older model Rolex using a 2836 movement because you can use it as an overlay ;)

Just look at the font - so crisp! Definitely gen.
Good to know. Thanks!

What year would that make this a gen?

If you're asking what year they stopped doing open 6 and 9 dates, I am not positive, but I think it was somewhere around 89. You can never be 100% sure with Rolex though... especially the older models.

@Quest100 open 6 and 9 tan are a dime a dozen in tan. If you need any let me know and no they don't have a black ring. I also have open 6 and 9 tan 3035 too.

@occb2 hummm maybe I'm thinking of the open 6 and 9 in white for 3135 that's rare. I remember trying to find one and had a really hard time. :(

That is music to my ears. I might buy one at some stage and play with it on some watches :)

I definitely would recommend it! I was annoyed with one thing though lol, some of the bracelet's screws were ANNOYING to unscrew.

Yeah I have had a few BPs and the screws were too soft and stiff at the same time, if that makes sense.

I have seen that too. The fix to that is penetrating oil. Soak the band in some WD40 or PB buster. Let it sit over night. I had a buddy who owns a auto shop put heat and it worked but me, soaking it soften the band, kind of like the whole baby oil thing. Worked wonders. Oh and when you get everything adjusted, use the blue thread lock to put them back in so they don't slip out. Enjoy your beauty.

Alright, I'll try that on the links that I have laying around someday. Thanks!

@TheHokage I agree, I soak them in 3-in-1 oil before I resize. A further soak in baby oil as it smells nicer lol. Then dry it completely. If the screws remain a bit hard to get out after that a quick blast on the thread side from a cigarette lighter does the trick. Sometimes I use a pin remover to push them through if they just spin without loosening. Loctite never does any harm when you are putting it back together. I apply it with a toothpick to avoid overspill and keep some acetone handy just in case some glue spills.
