I received my gen 5167 strap today. The spring bars that comes with the 3KF is garbage. I had a set of Rolex spring bars laying around (20 x 18mm) and they fit perfectly. There is no gap between the case and strap, no matter how you bend it, and it sits exactly like Gen. (I compared to the photos on chrono24.

So in short, good spring bars will solve your problem :)

Found it buddy. Haha a lot of scrolling, but thanks. As I understand you’ve put 20mm spring bars in it. That’s interesting as the lug width is 21mm. Funny thing is I have good quality 20mm spring bars (1,7mm thickness) but not 21mm.
It has helped a little but there’s still a slight gap. I think the gen also has that, specially when wearing on smaller wrists.

Yeah that was the only thing i had at the house :) If you wanna do it correctly, find some swiss quality spring bars 21mm x 1.8mm

I got 18cm wrists so there is no gap here :) i'll post a pic next week

Please do so. I’ll maybe order some after seeing your pictures. Would be interesting to see if it’s better than how mine looks at the moment.

There has been a lot of discussions about markings on the case back on SS vs Gold models and frankly I am a bit confused about what is right and what is not. So I pulled 2 pics from the Patek website. The SS on Rubber does show markings but not the bracelet model one. So it does seem like 3K is correct, am I confused (quarentine effect) or mis-stating something?

Sorry to return to the markings issue. I think the SS on rubber 5167 pics from the Patek website are from the Patek Philippe Ref. 5168G 20th Anniversary Aquanaut, which has a white gold case. Please see here: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/patek-philippe-5168g-aquanaut-anniversary-introducing

A week or so ago, I think I saw in this thread a comment about a problem with one of the wheels of the watch. I think it was the setting wheel or the crown wheel and it had some broken cogs. The member actually had several photos of the problematic wheel in the Post. At the time I did not have enough time to read the Post and I am now looking back and cannot find it. Am I the only one who saw this? Please let me know.

I got the watch yesterday, and took a couple of pics today. The watch came with the 3K strap and clasp. And I ordered a ZF strap and clasp on the side. I also bought a set of gen straps.

to sum it up. The 3K strap and clasp is garbage imo. The rubber looks and feels cheep and is very far off from the gen. The clasp is real poor quality aswell, feels cheap.

the ZF rubber is very close to gen. Without a side by side, I wouldn’t be able to tell them apart. The only difference, the ZF is a bit softer and doesn’t hold its shape aswell as gen. The ZF clasp is sturdy and feels more robust.

After mounting the gen strap with the ZF clasp on quality Rolex spring bars, there is no gaps, everything looks exactly like a gen.

Looks amazing, wear in good health!! Which springbar did you actually use?

Got it, I have a Gen spec everest bands 20 x 1.8 and WSO 21 x 1.8 ready when mine arrives. Will try both.

The 21 would be the most correct, since the PP is a 21mm lug watch, but the 20 felt secure enough for me, so im not gonna bother picking up a set of 21 :)

As long as its swiss quality, i think you will be good with both

Is the zf movement better than the 3k?
Which one is best?

I have one of the fiest zf released. Is it worth buying the newer 3k as a upgrade?

Received my 3k Aquanaut earlier this week from Trusty and I am very happy with what I received. I took the bracelet off and put on a gen C09 strap. I think it looks great. My two issues so far is the date being slightly off center and the second hand not sweeping smoothly at times. I can live with both.

Looks like also the paint is coming off from the movement maybe this also can affect the movement.
Hello, Can you please elaborate on your statement about "the paint is coming off from the movement"?

Is there a guide to this?
I see many genuine strap selling for over 500€ on ebay, and some used genuine at 140-160€, BUT they all look cut very short, and therefore not so appealing for a large audience.
Thanks in advance!

Godfathar has made an excellent one. Here you go

Thats the thing buddy. The ones that are cut very short will sell cheaper. I haven’t seen any below 220€ on eBay though. Maybe you got lucky and found one for 160€. Must be very short. I bought one for my wrist for 240€. I wear 16,5cm. This one is for a good 17-17,5cm wrist but I haven’t cut it as my wrist is a little above 16,5 (specially when active) and it therefore fits me fine.

Are these centre different from regular shop?
the price you paid seems super fair, basically on the same level of replicas! amazing!
