It does work, but like I say a lot more comes off than you actually think, you can’t judge it when it’s in the bleach only after the rinse and dry. I’d only rub it lightly and not for too long, or you might get it a lot more washed out than you want it to be

Thanks for your input this is what I am afraid of as I dnt want it to end up losing too much couler I do have a couple of extra inserts for practicing on before I do attempt to bleach my decent insert I use in the watch I will attempt this tonight and update in the next couple of days thanks for the advice jip7645:

Another night of filing and a bit of bleaching light polishing and I think it’s taking shape not yet finished but getting there / this insert was a practice and obv just let the bleach take too much off I think

Think I overdone this one but I personally like the overfafed look on this I done another 2 inserts that were just slightly fsddd I gave this one extra bleach and a good rub and just couldn’t resist trying to rub it all of to get that extra ghost look Casper doesn’t have a look in !!

This look like a SUPER GHOST bezel to me

But the faded vintage look is cool.

Added some dirt and grime lightly and sprayed some hairspray onto a cotton bud to take the bright white look from the bleach and I think as it looks justnow is fine but over time it will look even better and after adding the spray the numbers are showing through a lot better also polished the crown guards some more and I might just leave it like this now but no doubt I will be sanding and grinding again soon lol it’s an addiction

If I may, the insert grey needs to be uniform, maybe with some scratches.

The concentric scratches would be unlikely to happen in the wild

Small tip.
When you dilute the bleach, use medium hot water and put the container outside in sunlight (i know that’s a challenge in UK but a UV lamp works too)

You can give the insert a dip in nail varnish remover, this will attack the paint coating and ease the work og the bleach

Not bad for a first timer I went beyond the normal and created my own version of the ghost bezel
