What year is it? Looks nice.....

notice how far the words "oyster" "perpetual" and "date" stand apart. And how fine the writing is.

Did you see the one on the rolex website, looks like a "5 tick" . Seems like the current model is over 5 ticks

Why mod the reps at all if gens already differ so much.

If you are referring to the one I posted it is a D series - 2006.

i can't count how many times it has been said, the only mbw's that are worth buying are the vintage ones and they are crap until you mod them and spend a sl of money. the modern mbw's are nothing.

With the talk about the Swiss Made dial printing, notice on Gen's that the Swiss Made is "upwards" on the dial so that approx. the letters are halfway at the minute markers whereas in the reps the Swiss Made is placed too low.... cept' on Maxi-Dial LV reps.

For a $350 to $450 rep (depending on who you get it from) I am amazed at how this just doesn't hold up to scrutiny based on this thread. For $350-$450 I'd EXPECT the rep to live up to those claims.
CISO

Agreed. That is way too much to pay for a modern Sub.

Of course...

D series had the Swiss Made in between the 5 ticks.
F series and a few of the first D series had the Swiss Made over 5 ticks...
If you look at the bezel the 4 on the insert (40) has a flat 4 as opposed to the sharp 4 on this text..

There are varations BUT there are not supposed to be (as per gen anyway) on the reg 16610, just the LV.

Still, That "modern MBW" really SUCKS! I am glad I saw these pics...
Come to think of it Bostons pic of his MBW had the 3 on the date touching the bottom window as well!

I thought this might be a better MBW example, not sure

It's not a Noob or a VIP, I thought it might be MBW or TWB but it doesn't really look like TTKs 16610 much.

I bought this off of one of the "overpriced SCAM" sites before I knew better.

I actually did like the deep non-conical rehaut, the pearl, the proportions on the dial fonts (SUBMARINER script as good as I've seen), and crispness of the stamping on the crown. Did not like the 2.0 mag, and the aggressively pointy trimmed CGs

This thread is depressing me, that you can spend $100, $188, $308, $458, or $850, but you can get just about anything at any point in that price spectrum... And it doesn't necessarily follow price nor does it completely go against price. Just random.

watch b (MBW) is like a raw gem that needs refining. I'm still refining mine but can't wait to share some photos so you can see the strengths of the MBW. Also look for my post "Unfinished MBW 16610" for the details of the watch.

Watch A is the Vipmariner and watch B is a MBW
On watch A the Date is too far on the right side.
On watch B the datemag is about 3x,datewheel is bad this time on the MBW...
The older MBW's has better Datewheel and the right Datemag, also the rehaut was better on the older MBW Modells

A modded one can look like this
