I'll be getting this case from Raffles soon Explorer but same case/ different bezel obviously - and hoping to pop a VR3135 in there so I'll report back.
Previous posters say it can be done with minor mods - just a mov spacer to centralise. We'll see.

How did the movement sit?
What sort of movement spacer did you have to use?
How about securing the movement with the screws?
Did the stem line up just fine with the crown hole?

A thousand questions! Sorry.

I got a lot of information and answers from this thread:

All lines up, used some generic case clamps:

You can also get these clamps and screws from AliExpress.

Hey how did it go with the 3135? Were you able to use it with raffles 2824?

I didn't use a 3135 in the end - went with 2824-2.
However, my extensive research led me to understand that it will work with minimum fuss; stem height matches, etc.

You may or may not run in to Rotor-hitting-inside-of-case-back problems - but mounting the movement as far in as possible not to distort the stem in the crown tube should sort that out. If not with some removal of metal of the case back you will overcome this.

You will need a glass gasket which will fulfil the movement holder spacer in the case.
This is the one you will need;

Good luck and show us how you get on.

Thanks for the valuable info! Very helpful! This will be my first build ever really besides messing around with some Siekos and NH35s. I’m looking to build using as many GEN parts as possible (on the outside that is obviously). Which 3135 would you recommend? VS or VR?

It will fit, you just need to modify the case a bit.
See post #62 here. That is a 2824 case with a VS3135 in it...
I did see that! I guess I just needed some reassurance! What gen parts will I be able to use with this movement? Will gen hands fit as well? Forgive me for the questions as this will be my first build besides messing around with some Seiko mods!

Hey another question about this! Did you have to swap out the crystal that came with the 2824 case for one where the cyclops aligns with the date wheel? I’ve been told that it will not line up correctly using a 3135 movement as the case is meant for a 2824 movement,

Correct. I mentioned my plans with Raffles and he swapped out the crystal without telling me it was different. I didn’t knew it was different until I ordered the second case. Glad I had a set of plexi crystals laying around. Widened the bezel and pressed it in.
So: Make sure you tell him you’re installing a 3135 movement in the 2824 case.

Excuse me if I reopen this thread. I’m collecting all the stuff to build a 16233 on a 2824 raffle case with drilled lugs.
I’ve already bought a gen 24-603 Rolex crown and I was wondering if I need a specific crown tube too or if the one provided with raffle case is ok?

If so, which specific crown tube should I buy? Thanks
