Does anyone have tips on reshaping the lugs on the Raffles 2824 case? Below is a pic of that case on top of my gen 16613 sub. The datejust lugs should be a similar shape. What is the method for this mod?

Athaya vintage sells a 24-600 crown and tube. Anyone know how it compares to gen and raffles? Also is it right for the sapphire models like 16234 or is it meant for the older acrylic DJs?

I’ve never heard of that site before but if it’s legitimate, it looks better than Raffles and for $35 it’s cheap enough to give it a shot. (Pic below) Personally I’d just get a gen off eBay; you can find them very reasonably priced.

Athaya sells quality products. I’ve used the crowns/tubes for a few builds. They are smooth and built well. There are a few top watch builders/modders on here that recommend them as well.

I'm assuming since raffles case takes gen spec crown tube, hopefully the Athaya tube should screw right in. I ordered one so I'll just have to see when it comes in.

Would a gen spec 25-295 crystal and bezel fit on the 2836 no holes case? I am thinking of a clarks crystal and and a wholesaleoutlet bezel but I am unsure if the WSO bezel is any better than the stock raffles case. Also what would be the correct gen-spec gasket height for the crystal 2.7mm?

Did you ever get the WSO bezel? I’m curious how they are.

Hey so I just put a Clark 25-135 acrylic crystal on the raffles 2924 case and tbh it did not fit snug. The gen bezel I have could be easily pressed with my hand (I’ve used a sapphire crystal and the same bezel on the 2836 case and that worked perfectly). Has anyone else had that issue when using acrylic? Does anyone have any tips? Thanks.

I believe raffles cases are intended to be used with sapphire crystals,

Here's a ginault crystal on the raffles 2836 case set fit VERY snug using 2.7mm gasket.

@lawlessflyer. Thanks for the reply and your insights. That would make sense since I’ve used a sapphire crystal on the build I did with the 2836 case. TBH with this acrylic it sits fine enough in that it’s not going to come off, it’s just not water tight. Which for this build is fine because I’m going to wear it on a beige suede strap.

I have a 603 crown on its way in the mail and all I need is the VS3135! Decided to go that route instead of the ETA, hope it works!

Last question, what are some good alternatives to a gen gold fluted bezel on the 16xxx? I have a gold plated Bulova one that’ll work decently for now, but was wondering what else people have tried.

Hey all I need some assistance. I swapped the crown tube on the Raffles case for a gen spec one from Esslinger and I cannot get it to fully thread in (see the picture). Has anyone else had this issue before?

Also, the gen 603 crown I have seems to be slipping. It threads nicely though. Is that a common issue that can be fixed?

Did you have any luck with the 3135 and the 2824 case? Or with the gen spec crown/tube?
