Posts like this realy raise the bar for the rest of us.

It might become "sticky"??

Kudos to Aquaracer for putting together one of the best posts I've seen comparing reps with gens. If you notice, Aquaracer has slightly changed the title to more accurately reflect his post, and I've put a sticky on it. IMO, this should be required reading for anyone interested in buying a PAM rep.

Not the 2005 111 I own- The AR kicks back a yellow refraction- NO Panerais have the distinctive blue AR coat- that I have seen- perhaps they're out there but all of the gens I have owned and handled don't have the blue tint. As far as light purple?? Again- have not seen it.

my 112h has the yellow-green tint as well. i've seen the blue tint in some contemporary models, the 88 and the 24 to name a few. nt too sure of the series tho.

can someone do a coparison between the DS 111H and Tumb Watch 111H. He is offering a fully modded one as well and I believe you can use a SS bracelet with his. I can't seem to find anyone that didi a comparison.

Absolutely, one of the best, most informative posts on PAM reps I have ever read. You nailed it. I share your sentiments exactly! I too have gone around and around with the "Panerai Police" that lurk about on the boards waiting to whip out their archived 10x photos of Gens used to point out all the "obvious" flaws in the rep PAMs.

I don't get it, there reps man! - Not gens!

You soared straight to the top with your detailed post that is NOT based on what someone else heard from someone else, who heard from someone else who saw a picture of a Gen...

Real world baby! I LOVE IT!

And since you have qualified yourself as one whom I would totaly trust, may I ask for some advice?

I have recently ordered a Davidsen Fiddy with e movt. I like the straps pictured in your post - ALL OF THEM!

I have a little strap collection myself, but they are all 24mm. My favorite is a Officine Firenze Pelle de Sole by Mario Paci in cognac. I really like the look of the Savage with out stitching, but I also like the GEF La Spezia you have too.

Which strap would you recommend for a Fiddy and why? (also, do you have pictures you could post)

GREAT Post and thanks again...

Thank you!!

While I know ther must be more of us, I too have a Gen Panny (025J), and about 10 Panny reps. I also have 2 gen Rolex (datejust and Oysterquartx) and a rep steel Daytona. I have a gen Jaeger MechaQuartz, and a gen Omega Speedy Day-Date and SMP GMT with the new co-axial deployment movement, along with a 42mm Orange PO

Thank you for your thoughts on the integration of the gens and reps in your collection. I think, for now, I'll stick with my one Panerai gen, and continue to collect reps.

I have 2 pieces from David, the 56 Destro, and the 82, both Ti pieces, and I love wearing them.

Thanks-

My fave on the Fiddy is my fave on anything- the GeF LaSpezia in Cognac- Justthe right thickness, gets softer by the day- looks even better as it distresses.

Another great one on the Foddy is the Europelli baseball strap- and every now and then I put on a black sharkskin or a gray sharkskin- The beauty of the Pams is that the character of the watch is totally changed by the strap style, thickness and color.

GREAT Post and thanks again...
