Hey guys, just ordered my bpsd. Dwo alignment looks good to me, can you guys comment on the pearl, bezel teeth and sel? Crown guards look way long to me too
Not an expert. Not even close. Pearl looks sunken at the bottom in first picture. But I cannot tell. I tried to compare it to pics of mine, but mine is supposed to be a gen insert. Sel fitment is annoying on almost all of these I have seen. Mine is supposed to have a TC bracelet, but I still don't like the sel fitment.
Crown guards baffle me. Bezel teeth I can never tell without a side shot looking at the crown.
I am sure that did not help.
A beautiful watch in any case.
Cannot stand the sels on mine.

@Maron, that date looks better placed than mine, but still a bit off. Insert seems to be misaligned unless it's turned a click Or two in the pic. Sels look not so good but if you're gonna replace with TC bracelet then it doesn't matter anyway.

Aaron all those flaws you mentioned are there, pearl looks like it is uneven, bezel teeth look shallow but it's kinda hard to tell from pics and all the sels are bad on most. But you are going to mod all those so it's up to you. If it was me I would be focused on bezel teeth because pearl and bracelet will be fixed with mods. Teeth can be worked also, the better they are to start with the better finished product.

Tc bracelet will fix sel right? Pearl looks strange in first two pics but normal in last two, could it just be lighting? Either way an insert solves that. Yes bezel teeth, do you think it's worth asking for another example with better teeth?
Pardon my stupidity but what is bezel teeth shaping? Are you telling me someone goes in with a file and hand shapes each tooth?
Maybe someone can post a before and after picture that my pea sized brain can wrap around.

Deepening the bezel teeth by hand, I've got to say that doing that by hand is next to or is impossible. How do I know: I tried it once on an old Sub and I've got the proper sized set of watch and jeweler's files. It's impossible to get each one the same without a machine. And then you have to polish the new grooves.
Now as far as putting a bit of a shine on the inside of the teeth grooves. That can be done somewhat with a buffing wheel and it does make the bezel look shinier but putting full shine on the teeth grooves by hand would be a rather huge chore.

I kind of figured that but I don't see how you can possibly call that "deepening the bezel teeth".
I've polished a couple of bezel's including my current and favorite SSD and the change is noticeable for a while before it fades out to looking the same as before in a month or two of wear.

If you look at Benjiis , his actually look well worn to me......id just leave it stock
Over polished bezel teeth is something you'd expect on an aged watch, is that what you are getting at?

Sorry what I mean is that after having it serviced over the years the teeth will appear more shallow as a result. Not as deep as when the watch was brand new 20 years ago
