Most reps aren't perfect, theres always some flaw or problem. The sellers are very aware of this. Theres no way that was an accident. Send it back. But do remember the one you exchange it for may be worse or have other problems.

I know a seller who would send you a broken or F'ed up watch for complaining about little stuff. They count on you not wanting to send watches back over and over.

I wouldn't blame our TD for this , I think its there supplier who did this and pulled the wool over his eyes ,and he passed the watch onto you without knowing this, I have seen these QC pics before from different dealers and they all have the same sticker on them with the blue ink with the order # , so they are coming from the same exact place and the QC pics are taken there , and sometimes the watch is shipped out from there supplier not them, so they sometimes dont even see your watch in person, I have compared the return address on all my shipments from the same dealer and they have different address on them and even come from a different city, sometimes our TD's use a drop shipper IMHO

That might be the case if they are drop shipping. I am not sure which of our TD's drop ship. I tend to use Sead for must of my purchases. His QC pictures tend to suck in terms of quality (tend to be poorly lit and show phantom flaws that aren't really there), but they are honest. Unless there are other flaws besides the dial, I wouldn't send it back. Instead, I would ask the TD to send you a replacement dial and you can have a local watch smith swap it for you (costs around $40 in my area).

coincidence - an event that might have been arranged although it was really accidental.

Would be a shame if some TDs started to resort to this. Ordered from Sora the first time last week and he sets the time to 11:10 so can clearly see the logos top and bottom.

Imagine the rejection rate of watches if the dealers showed all the flaws on each watch that are there. The fact they even provide these pictures is a godsend. I do admit that covering flaws with the hands is a bit shady and is a bit used-car salesman-like.

The dealers do not make the watches, and are middlemen. They have to accept what is given to them, and I'd guess that they have some kind of ratio of good/bad watches that they are provided and have to offload. If they keep returning watches to the factory, I'd imagine the dealer would be shunned.

Anyway, Ryan dont fail us buddy!!!

Naughty! Can't see this being a mistake to be honest, however, perhaps it was the kind of flaw a "normal" person wouldn't spot so they just try to move them on?

As a wise man once told me; "choose your dealer then your watch".

I've got a TD who has never let me down and proved himself once when I had an 'early life' failure, I won't be switching now I trust him!

guys i dont know about you, but several times i have used from a TD called T*** and its weird how the date of the QC pic never matches up to the current/ a few days after transaction date..its more like a month apart..like the QC pic was taken a month BEFORE i bought the watch. weird eh? and its funny how from that TD, the packaging varies.. sometimes in bubble wrap only in a silly bag..sometimes really well , inside a polystyrene box..sometimes in a cardboard box..in other words never consistent..and never the same in terms of carriers..i dont know about you guys, but i dont think some TD's actually have the physical stock in hand , snap pictures and send it to us to be honest

Ha! It's funny you posted this because the same thing happened to me: and I got grilled in my thread for it too.

It wasn't a huge imperfection and still ok but still.

I would've bought that watch from you and wore it with no issues. I don't see that as a flaw.

This dealer doesn't dropship probably. He has his employee who takes the qc pics. This guy is the first one to blame. But anyway, the employee usualy does what his boss tells him to do...

I believe that we are all very much aware of what it is all about in the rep business. We know that reps are not gens. We know that there are flaws. But I believe that we can expect honesr approach from our trusted dealers. How can we trust them otherwise?
Hiding flaws behind the hand is a cheap trick and it can ruin the reputation.

Yes, this is the same dealer for sure. And yes this is a visible flaw and imho it was masked intentionally with the minute hand. Exactly the same case as mine.

They all have flaws and imperfections. To assume otherwise, is quite naïve. If a dealer intentionally hides those flaws, I think that crosses the line.

Very sneaky photographer trick but it all falls on the dealer in the end. It's control, but not quality.
