Mine came in today and I bet it took less than two minutes to change the crystal. It seems that the crystal sits at just about the perfect height in the Sead V4 case.

But I'm kind of bummed because the gen dial and hands that I bought have disappeared in the post office and there's no recourse apparently since they weren't insured. And to top that off, when I put the watch back together to admire the new crystal, I noticed that the lume has disappeared from the 6 o'clock marker.

It was nice to confirm that it does have a nice shiny new ETA movement though.

Hi mate, I am glad to hear you got it too! But you have had a lot of misfortune with the parts, hopefully they will arrive eventually. If you can, post some pics of your watch, nevertheless the missing lume dot.

I too had the lume "stickers" fall off my Sead PO. If it is still in the case, then it's just an easy re-glue back onto the dial marker. I had to do that at least 3 times. Once on the 7, 8, and 11 oclock markers.

Still can't stop staring at it. Even as I am typing this...

+1 for all the accolades. Just did the switch on my PO and it looks great. Well worth the price. Thanks Sunnydale!

Unfortunately I can't find it. Apparently it fell out when I was taking the movement out and I've searched all over my desk top.

I anyone who has frankened up their PO's has a dial they don't want.................

OK, I slapped a little lume mixed in crystal cement in the hole where the lume fell out. At least it looks better than nothing. Maybe after it dries i can clean up the edges a bit but it's not bad from a distance.

Crystal looks awesome but you want to keep wiping it off every time your greasy fingers touch it. I feel like I need to carry around clean lint-free cloth.

I see that I should have wiped that piece of lint off at the 28 second mark. Luckily, it's on the outside.

Thanks for the pics KBH! I don't know if UPO markers will fit PO, but I might have a crooked UPO dial without the Omega logo somewhere.

Thanks, but all the way from Finland is way too much trouble. This will be fine until I get around to ordering another gen dial someday. From 3 feet away you can't see a thing. Plus, I've got a line on another old dial from a forum member that might be available.

Got mine yesterday

Sunny,
Got my crystal on Friday. Slapped it in today, and BAM, it looks great! Here is a before and after pic(not very good pic). Can't tell as much by the pics, but the deep purple tint is gone, and now it is a light purple tint. Really makes the dial POP! The pic on the wrist is the new crystal.

I received the crystals today (ordered two of them, I am crazy about good ARed crystals), never realized that they're felt so tiny compared to other 42mm watches crystal. Even 41mm carerra has slightly wider crystal diameter. Can't wait to order the watch, but must wait until the funds permitted.

Thanks Ate. Hopefully after this round you're accepting AR jobs. I have two that needs AR badly.

Yeah I see what you mean, I was beginning to think that this LM would be a no go as when I tried it last night I could not get it to go in at all. I had already tried a standard 5th gen crystal last week and it went in fine so was surprised. Then I tried a standard 5th gen green gasket, which seemed a little flimsier and thinner and less tall and it didn't work, the crystal was far too loose. I was beginning to think there was a few too many production variations between the 5th gen caseset/gasket and this, and it would be a non starter. It does work fine in the end, just need to put a bit of elbow grease into it. The little bit of extra crystal above the bezel reminds me of how the 4th gen PO caseset used to fit gen crystals.

Anyway just to add, sunnys crystals are really sensational, best AR I've ever seen I think, easily up there with Taka and chiefs in terms of transparency, ....if not better.

hey drbollocko any chance you have a photo showing exactly how much higher the crystal sits in the case?

Sorry to hear about the gen dial hands going awol kbh, they aren't cheap so that is a real pita. I have a few final PO frankens in the works atm, and I still need to order some other parts but I'm sure I may have a dial or dial parts left over at the end of it if you need it. I could be a few weeks getting things in order though. I do hope that gen dial arrives yet for you.

Nope :D sorry. I just put parts together to confirm they fit, me getting down at extreme angles for photos is beyond my skill and ability ;) Maybe when I've the watch put back together I'll give it a go. It does sit higher, as KBH says it may be possible to alter the height of the gasket to get it to sit lower. It may be too high for some people but tbh it isn't extreme so didn't really bother me. unfortunately it may be impossible to sit flush as in the 5th gen case, just some minor differences between this and 5th gen case. It is about a mm higher at the moment.

This might give a better idea but is as low as I got:

When I swapped mine the gasket stayed in the watch case and I didn't want to disturb it so I can't really even say what the gasket looked like. Fortunately on the V4, the dial is exactly the same height as the original.

As for the dial, it would be nice to find an old one with a non-happy feet logo and a decent 6 marker. Although I went back in after my home made lume dried and cleaned up the marker and it looks pretty decent although not a perfect color match with the rest of them. Also, it glows brighter than the rest. Or maybe I'll break down and buy another gen dial.

Been saving my extra $$$ for an autopilot for my boat at the moment. Watches are secondary.
