Dear friends
As you can see easily I’m not native English
Therefore, I don’t understand some colloquial, familiar or informal sentences.
Could you, please, explain me what you mean?
Sorry a lot. but, please understand me!!!
Many thanks for your effort and support

There are so many things to say that I can't say anything. I'm speechless. I do feel better now.

It does suck when you take the time to help a fellow card carrying member with a problem and they don't respond with a thank you. It sucks even more when the they critique your answer! That's one of the times I usually mention PecMan and he comes running and hijacks the thread. Then I get to move it to the Looney Bin.

Thanks Pec!

Thanks Q5? for your contribution

I think it's easy to lose track of posts, especially older ones which may go unanswered for more than a week.

I try to search my 'recent' in case someone replies, and acknowledge them. But if there's another post to me later I may miss it.

The truth is that alot of people will read a thread because they might want to know the answer themselves. I have opened alot of threads myself to see what the replies are, so i might learn something. im guilty of not leaving replies only because i didnt have an answer.

This IS certainly a social environment; a community that runs on communication. However much we like polite discourse it doesn't always occur. Of course there is no requirement for members to be sociable, or even to post! There are many, many members of this forum who only lurk, and shop the for sale section. The active, chatty membership is a much smaller base. I, for one, am proud to count myself a part of that exclusive bunch. :)
Also, just ask kendog says, I browse and read threads that have nothing to do with me. I read about the newest ceramic Sub when I don't care for Rolex at all. I read because I learn about the hobby, and I learn about the members. I feel like I "know" many of the regular posters, and that's a feeling that comes from taking in all the knowledge, quips, and quirks these great folks offer!

How about where I live there is a thing called freedom of expression and opinion, and while frustrating that people may read you post and not reply, they certainly are not obligated to chime in.

But I agree with for the sole reason of making this and opportunity to up one the post whoring glws by posting on every topic one word:

agree or +1

In my defense or case, I am still learning and cannot possibly answer technical questions. Next best thing is to read the post and hopefully learn from it and move on.

+1

i must be missing something here as Im sure his original question was why do people post threads asking questions then never bother to say some thing like "ah ok! thanks for the info!"

Hit and run thread makers who have no manners to reply to the people kind enough to reply their origianl question..... I know what I think of that...

Now look stiff and Q made me reply to a year old thread  ;)

Still pertinent thought!

as some have suggested here, that Ale is asking for more "+1" or senseless "I agree" postwhore replies, I think they missed the point all together.
I too have tried to help members with a straight question, to which they don't bother to reply to. I agree, that is bad form.
The worst example: a guy once asked me about the assembly of the bezel on a breit montbrillans legende. I offered to post a breakdown, and took apart the entire watch the same weekend. ONLY t help this guy out.
now, I was happy when I finished uploading 25 pics to help a guy out, and checked if he had found it helpfull. he never commented though.

I know it's too much to ask, but ale is right to remind us.

Hi friends

This is an old thread dated 30 July 2011. Many things have changed nowadays after to have written almost 6000 posts.

I hate when people revive this polemic thread, because it is always misinterpreted.

AMA, trksh and Steeli have got the sense of this thread, thank you friends.

That’s all… and please…. FORGET IT !!

:rotors:

Then don't create them. Just saying........

Look ALE, we all have old posts that a buddy will dig up just to razz us. No harm was intended.
