Yes. It was an old tritium dial and the lume was dead. finedd had some serious work to clean it up.

R2 had to cut the dial feet off and Katt used dial dots to secure it to the movement. It needs a little more work to line things up. ;)

I might have the lug holes drilled through to compliment the tritium dial.

Excellent job you done with it. Can you please specify if your bracelet lock also feels and looks it was made from coke cans? My bracelet looks fine, but the lock itself feels really light and cheap.

Thank you for your kind words. It has taken some time an luckily I have had Katt, R2 and JackJo there to help.

The bracelet is supposed to feel cheap. The Gen is horrible! If it bugs you I would stick with the Omega Planet Ocean!

Mate, Can you confirm pls if you have the same looking SD?

Imwatchingyou, check the serial number between the lugs to see if you have the same one as Q5s. It should read z539117

Q5, with all the gen parts on this baby, does the LEC on the crystal bother you? I can't take that thing! It seems there are no options for a replacement crystal.

Thanks

Took my bracelet off and for my happyness I have the same watch :) I have also bought a gen bezel with a gen pearl. Havent seen any dials, crowns or crown tubes around for it thought. Will have to have mine Jackjod soon

Lume looks great. Can you please make a macro shot of the dial for me? The gen SD has the same lume colour?

Guys there is nothing we can do about the crystal. The only option is to have a crystal made custom. $$$$

The lume matches the WM pearl perfect. I assume that matches the Gen. :)

That's what I keep reading about the crystal! If it wasn't for that.... It would be perfect!

Why do you want to drill the lug holes anyway? The case with the drilled lug holes had a silver HEV, didnt it?

TBH I like the looks of the drilled lugs. The SD will never be correct to Gen. The etched crown on the crystal is"apparently a big deal." There is no replacement crystal out there. Only option is to have one made. $$$$$$

Nice picture. You can really see the bezel lip is above the insert.

@Q5, you are correct, to give this impression in my rep, I sanded the bezel insert a little so it sits bellow than the original that came with the rep, in this manner it looks a little legit to me.

Mmmm.... The SD´s are gorgeous watches... :)
Been looking at a SD for quite some time, very clost to pull the trigger on a gen SD from 1996-97 with SWISS-T<25 dial insanely good price (small town auction) but money needed elsewhere unfortunately.
Looked at the noob SD but started thinking about vintage and missed one a year ago but found this one below luckily, but man, yours "newer" SD looks incredible!

Going slightly more vintage on mine, drained the bank account when I had a shot for this baby :)
A vintage 1665 "Great white" SD.
It just got a new tube and gen crown + gen insert so slightly different from what´s in the pic´s during the weekend. Will be pic´s when I get it in my hand.

Extremely happy that usmctowgnr decided to part with his baby!

Sorry for thread jacking.

And about drilled holes, they always looks nice :D
