Bottom line, if you take someones money, you do a job, within an agreed timeline (or communicate any significant deviation) or you give the money back.

And the terms you mention would line up with the recommended M2M guidelines.

You have done your due diligence on the buyer, the possibilty of onward sale in case of default & then accept payment after the reserved sale is approved.

Then feedback can be left in the normal section, as a matter of public record, for all to see when others do their due diligence.

Issues tend to arise when members deviate from the above (and in some instances, with the best will in the world, even when all the rules are adhered to, issues still arise unfortunately)

And there's another component many members are guilty of. Treating these guys as gods. Defending them beyond the defendable. If I can make an appeal, don't roast a member as soon as he makes a bad review. Sure, many bad revirews are due to misinformation or wrong expectations. But a lot of them are righteous, and members get instantly flamed when they post one. This creates an aura of untouchability and people are afraid to post bad reviews. I admit things have become better lately, but we should all be calmer and give people the benefit of the doubt when they post.

Don't be afraid to call out the BS and think twice before you shred the ones who do...

I remember members feedbacking on service from a well known modder here and he was put down immediatly to keep quiet because the should not affront the super duper modder. That made me feel disgusted (like the cloudy water the modder was using in his waterproof/leak test machine lol)

If that happened before, I am equally disgusted, so no disagreement at all, on the contrary that is the type of behaviour I am trying to discourage.

I agree with the general sentiment that we all should keep each other accountable, regardless of status.

That said, I have yet to see a well crafted complaint back with evidence and no dramatics being put down. On the contrary, when the OP makes his case, usually there is a challenge to the modder/TD quickly supported by an Admin.

Where it goes ugly is when the OP is right but make an inflammatory first post with no evidence, often due to frustration and stress. Then usually there is a pitchfork crowd mentality that gets triggered.

When you criticize someone with a good reputation we start from a ‘bias’, also the angry/angry OP starts from the emotional, there he loses 80% of his credibility and the modder/watchmaker with a good reputation has already won his battle.
We tend to appeal to prestige and not to facts/evidence, that's how we work.

The pattern mentioned by @Feefo is always repeated, no matter if it is a seller, modder... health problems / hospitals / personal, that cocktail inhibits you from fulfilling your responsibilities keeping money that is not yours
