Personally, I think that two months is the absolute max for holding someone’s money or watch

I wouldn't disagree.
But 2-3 days is a bit crazy . I am lower volume, but I quote 2-3 weeks upon receipt. Although its usually faster.

Honesty and not taking money before work is completed is pretty important. Most people will work with you if you are upfront and set expectations. And produce work, then invoice....

Not rocket science.

If a watch needs repair this isn't reasonable. I don't expect the customer to do the troubleshooting on their own. Lots of the time I open the watch, find the issue, let the customer know I am ordering parts and the date I'll get them will probably be whatever it is, and then it's a waiting game. This cannot be done in a few days. It's weeks or months depending on the part.

Yes I agree if you are waiting on parts that need to be replaced.

For anything else - dial swaps/parts installation/quick troubleshooting? No more than a week.

I recently had some work done by a member here. They were busy and gave my an idea when they would feel comfortable getting to my watch, which was a couple of months down the road. I got a few emails during that time letting me know he was still on track to hit that timeframe. About the time he had predicted he was ready and let me know. He had to purchase some parts and this was the first time doing business with me and asked for a small deposit, which I happily paid. He kept me informed on the progress and time frame and was done in around a month. I paid the balance and the watch was sent to me in perfect condition and just as we had discussed. I was very impressed with the communication and steps he took to keep me informed and how the money was handled, etc. A very good experience and a great way to conduct business, in my opinion. I even asked if he would like for me to give him a great review on here and he turned me down saying he had so much work now and did not want to get overwhelmed. Good guy.

sorry who are?
the main issue is paying for gen parts, servicing and in this case fitting, on order without even having the watch shipped.

in summary he has a whole load of cash flow and zero risk from his end, he can take his time and all risk is shifted on the client.

this business model is built on the ability to absolutely screw the client, you are at his mercy and waiting patiently is all you can do.

I wanted to know if nikz19 and nickwatchstore are the same people?
i have big, big suspicion that this is absolutely the same guy.

shifting his business to a new name and ghosting a whole load of people on his old name, building extremely high working capital (buying a whole load of stock and acting like a TD) to 'shift' his business to a new name and continuing to screw people over.

I remember once getting called out because I mentioned an OG modder who was notorious for not getting work done in a timely manner. In my case, it was two years before I ever saw my watch back...but I'm the bad guy for calling out such an esteemed member. But because he was the best, I should just STFU and be grateful that he even considered touching my watch in the first place.

Bitch please. Two years is way too long to wait for work, I don't care who you are.

In this case here, if you're in the queue, just consider yourself fucked until proven otherwise. We can bitch, piss, moan, threaten, brig, ban, or whatever here, but until someone makes this asshole pay or play, nobody is doing shit...and that's the bottom line. Because at the end of the day, it will always be caveat emptor.

Let this be a lesson to everyone here: All that glitters is not gold. And I truly hope everyone involved is made whole, because as we all know and have learned about OASCOM recently, it's a crap shoot at best.

One last thing and I'll shut up: This forum was founded on many principles, one of which is that we help one another. (There's the "I" in info, FYI) We share information and we don't tell someone to hit the search bar for something. I hope we don't lose sight of that.

Peace and love to you all, brothers and sisters.

My watchsmith in Switzerland works like this. Max 1 week for parts swap, but for services (gen) as it takes few hours he has to block his planning, and can take easily a month

I doubt he is even aware of this Brig thread, because not only is he a liar, he is most likely a pathetic coward. Afraid to face up to things like a man should, shameful behaviour.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong and if so, I'll happily eat my words, but his last login is January & this is after many many HDTs, many many lies / excuses.

By brigging him & attaching the batch of dishonour, hopefully it will discourage others from dealing with him. If it doesn't, well they're on their own.

I can only sympathize with those/any who have o/s issues with him, but you have his details, you have his address, so the advice is to pursue things....legally....

Yet another example of greed & to reuse a GIF from earlier:

That's my question, what color works best. I was thinking do green, white, and red, so the SC is green, US is white, etc. so you have an Italian flag.

Jesus wept. I can't breathe I'm laughing so hard.
