1. The submariner, stays silent and no answers
2. The speedmaster, quick to take money, master at not delivering
3. The RoyalOak, being haughty and dismissive to customers asking for updates
4. The Nautilus, expert at navigating lies and half-truths

Add your own
Obviously there’s overlap between these two but
Fifty fathoms- somebody that gets in so deep it’s impossible to finish the work
The Big Bang- somebody who pulls a ‘heist’ and effs over a bunch of folks at once

Ballon bleu- somebody who tacks on charge after charge and the bill keeps inflating
Spitfire- somebody who stoops to personal and ad hominem attacks when their work is questioned

Personally, I think that two months is the absolute max for holding someone’s money or watch
i agree with this.
Most modders are not full time modders-- they have a life and other shit to do i get that. I dont expect a turn around of 2-4 weeks to be honest. Even if they have multiple jobs at the same time they should make their money by all means but 6+ months or zero communication isnt right.

i love this community and hate when shit like this happens. especially for known names i may not have worked with or known but still. As the stock watch qualities improve, the issues and some of the shit you hear about here is going backwards

Ok I’m writing all of mine together because I’ve come up with so many, should have done this from the start, kept thinking I wouldn’t come up with new ones-
Daytona ghost- quickly takes your money then disappears
The rusty- hasn’t modded in years
Dark side of the moon- never responds promptly
Raffles- might be able to fix it? Takes a shot!
Tank- does way more than required or requested
Cookie Monster- just greedy
Excalibur- holds piece long after it’s clear a miracle is needed
Wimbledon- treats it all like a dang game
No date- poor communicator
Heritage ranger- says will mod but dislikes all your ideas
Starbucks- can only do one thing, poorly
Bluesy- gives a sob story
Fifty fathoms- a modder who takes on so much work they’re in too deep to finish it all
The Big Bang- a modder who screws over a bunch of folks at once
Ballon bleu- a modder who inflates the bill for basic services
The spitfire- a modder who responds to criticism with personal attacks
Le petit prince- a modder who gets their feathers ruffled far too easily
Datejust- a modder who keeps putting the date of return back
The explorer- a modder who teaches themself their craft on your watch

And as a bonus
The post slut- a dumb noob like me that comes up with one idea for a joke and keeps posting them singularly instead of taking a minute to write them all out- post whoring for no gain whatsoever. Sorry yall!
@Karbon74 come tell these people what a piece of trash I am!
Also fwiw I think it’s tragic how some guys have started out one way and been brigged for changing so much and for whatever reason losing their accountability. I think @Feefo is right about the reasons why it happens, but my two cents to add as a noob is to say I’ve known a lot of mid mechanics in my life and they all had a yard FULL of junker cars- they knew enough about them to be eternal optimists but not yet enough about them to be realists. Across the boards, the people that I know that are the very best at what they do are very conservative with what they take on in the first place- but nobody wants to get rich slow… lastly I don’t want to jump on any modder, even in the brig- I love this community and I hope everything is made right and absolutely everybody is restored what they are due. It’s never too much to hope we all grow…

Usually, I take a certain guilty pleasure in bashing people in the Brig — it’s all free lunch, after all. We can hurl the most vicious words without consequence. Who doesn’t enjoy a cost-free punching bag?

But this time, I found myself at a loss for words.

Nikz was someone I worked with on multiple occasions. He was the one who taught me to invest in a new gen 4130 complete balance — “Only buy new. It’s the heart of the movement,” he told me. “Regulate it once and you can forget about it.” He helped me source most of the gen parts for my one and only heavily franken 116500. About a year and a half ago, he even invited me to visit his shop in Somma Lombardo. Regrettably, I had to cancel at the last moment due to urgent work.

Even now, it’s hard to believe. I’m still trying to make sense of it. But with more and more complaints surfacing, I’ve had to face the reality — this guy went rotten and started scamming people.

It’s genuinely disheartening. It feels like watching a former mentor caught red-handed… and being powerless on both ends.

Nikz, return what you took from others wrongfully and call it a day.

i feel completely the same my brother. we spoke on multiple occasions even when it was non watch related.

unfortunately greed is part of the human nature, most people luckily rank empathy before it.

it's so easy to let it take over when you are sitting on 4/5 figures on honest people's money and decide to screw them.

Nikz i hope that you read this and decide to change your ways

This is why I « keep low and keep it slow » in terms of cost and numbers.

A villain is often a hero who lived long to become jaded…
That and kalos doesn’t ship to America- at least not after they got tariffed

this guy went rotten and started scamming people.

He was rotten from the beginning, he just hid it very well. The 'break-in' at his store was fabricated bullshit. People who's property disappeared received a small cash payment from him while 'he waited for his insurance to pay out' then got little to nothing from him over the next couple of years, only excuses about how tragic circumstances prevented him from paying.

He has a Mercedes C and a BMW 6 series registered in his name, plus an 18,000 euros motorcycle, his wife runs a café in which he has shares.

His previous business, prior to being a self-anointed watchmaker, was repairing 'household electrical goods', which obviously presents less opportunity for scamming.

I guess I was one lucky son of a bitch who made it out of this in one piece, and honestly, it was nothing but sheer luck...

Damn really?
I remember him sharing pics or maybe it was a video, in the old WhatsApp group chat about that break in. That’s awful if it was truly fake.

I thought he went to school for watchmaking too?? At least that what he spoke of in the chat!

What a shit head if so…

Just think, in one of the infinite alternate universes, there's a bloke called Magnus from Iceland who sent his Oascom dial to NikZ19 for modding.

Probably.
Or perhaps a world where all 3 are decent human beings and not a sh!t stain on humanity & an embarrassment to both their parents and any offspring.

Disgraceful excuses for men, shameful.

Ooops, my mistake, it's not a café, it's a bar for simps to ogle overweight tattooed women with moustaches:

If you sent him watches and/or money and never got anything back, this is where your money went.
