As a newbie on the rep scene, I would like to say that I learn, read, observe, and compare every rep to gens so much that I have learned how to notice every little detail. If I look at a gen everyday for hours and look at a rep I'm interested in, yes, I notice the smallest detail. I ask myself if that small detail is enough to bother me, or is it enough to make someone call me out on my rep. So far, I haven't had comments about my reps. Just gawks. In the end, it is really about whether or not the individual can carry it off. If someone sees your nice watch but they don't think you have the class or money to pull it off, they will automatically be suspicious.
I had an ex with a Rolex years ago. His watch looked good, but when he took it off and held it, I could feel the weight of the watch, I knew it was fake because it was too light and felt hollow. I asked about it and he never answered the question. I didn't know much about reps at the time, but I did have my own gen watch from a well-known luxury jeweler and the weight of my watch was heavier than his watch that cost 1000's more. Since finding this site about a year ago, I think the more a person knows about watches, the more likely they will be to purchase reps. In my opinion, it doesn't make common sense to spend 1000s or 10s of 1000s to buy something I can get more easily at a lower cost, even if it isn't EXACT. If you like a watch, you like a watch. Quality is important, but only a fool purchases what they can't really afford.
I believe in quality and will still buy gens, but if I get reps, that's nobody's business. I buy reps FOR ME. I'm not a con artist trying to swindle people out of money. BTW...there are no judgements from me here. I just wanted to share my two cents.
