Danza1813 yeah i know its a small issue. Sometimes some really small imperfections bother me a lot. I’m not anal about my reps at all. Just here and there are things I struggle to accept, lol. But if I look back at it, I should have grabbed one. Guess the ORF would have to do now.

The back of an SMP is clear sapphire crystal, you would literally have to take the whole thing apart. Those were the words of a professional on YouTube comparing the gen SMP to a genuine and now it’s been perfected. ORF makes an excellent SMP and so does the “VSF V2 SMP”

I live in Las Vegas.. I’ve never been at a fine dining restaurant and someone saying “nice watch, let’s take the back off I have tools right here” hahaha… BUT if I was having dinner next to someone with a ORF in their wrist I would immediately be able to tell it’s Rep based on all colors.

I am not sure why you are always so confrontational, maybe you lack a good sex life. Come to Vegas so you can get you some, maybe that way you can loosen up. I was sharing about Las Vegas since this a tourist place with people from all over the world and many fine dining experiences with multiple local Omega Stores and many other watch stores like Rolex, AP etc not including private watch jewelry stores. There is a reason why Gordon Ramsey and has 5 restaurants here and many other celebrity chefs. Actually Las Vegas is pretty awesome even without the Casinos, you have the Grand Canyon nearby, mountains, lakes and if that’s not enough you can always drive to California which is 3 hours away. If you are a professional at something with a good resume or own a business you will do great and enjoy dirt cheap cost of living. If you live in a place like this and walk around with an ORF you will get spotted quickly that was my only point. Cheers mate.

Haha you always have them walking around, you can get 2-3 at the same time, delivered to your room, you have ‘Floyd Mayweather’s strip club and too much more for me to mention in here. Also the YouTube channel who said the SMP 300 is near perfect was “Watchfinder & Co” who have over 701K subscribers and are reputable Watch Smith’s/Trusted Gen Watch Dealer. They were comparing a regular VSF (not a V2 nor the ORF) to a Gen. Since then the video has been removed maybe because they kept saying how good the Rep was and how “They would have an expert/enthusiast sweating” (their words not mine) The article is still available but no video. My suggestion to my fellow watch brethren is if they want something as close to Gen and can’t find a NTTD VSF is get the SMP 300 but just my humble opinion.

OK, so I just got the Omega Seamaster NTTD from GF and I can compare it with VSF v2 version.
The VSF’s version came with Milanese bracelet, albeit wrong by shape, buckle etc. so I used to wear it on rep nato strap.
I could only compare both watches with with plenty of GEN photos, at various angles and light directions.

My observations:


CASE:

VSF_v2 has a tiny bit darker titanium used comparing to GF. It is more dull and light absorbing. Considering the bracelet is SS instead of titanium - GF version is better suited to match SS shine than VSF version. The case execution is of bit better quality on GMF watch; HE valve has little distance from the case body, as per gen.

BEZEL:

GF bezel is clearly better executed - NO play in any axis. It was bone dry but some silicone oil did help. The digits on bezel are closer to GEN while on VSF version V2 - they are too thin.

SAPPHIRE:

both are wrong:
- GF version is a bit too flat
- VSF version is too „swollen” with way too much distortion
Comparing with photos - the GEN is something in between of these two. I would like to choose VSF but it’s distortion is too much for me.

CASEBACK:

- the GF version is harder to open, which is good
- the engravings are deeper on GF than on VSF_v2
- the engravings on VSF_v2 are darker than on GF one
- the fat engravings on VSF are closer to gen
- casebacks are not interchangeable

THE MILANESE BRACELET:

GF - correct shape, narrowing from lugs to buckle, correct buckle. Made of SS instead of titanium. A bit different wire pattern but close.

NATO STRAP:

- GF - wrong buckle, wrong loops, more shiny which is pleasing to the eyes
- VSF - correct buckle, correct loops
Both: a bit wrong woven pattern; VSF is clear winner here.


MOVEMENT:

Both watches used 2824 with decorative plates. Both have balance cook regulating knobs hidden under that plate… It is not easy to get access to these knobs :/


LUME:

GF has better lume, especially on bezel.

SUMMARY: it is a mixed bag. I would choose GF anyway. Give me better crystal and I would be happy
Both are pain in the … when trying to regulate.

BOTTOM LINE:
Pity there is no chance for VSF to release better version, with better sapphire, better bezel and lume.

Thanks for the comparison but i have to disagree in some points the color of the gmf is awful, bezel teeth on the vsf are miles ahead better. The nato has the wrong logo, i guess with vsf gone the gmf is a decent option.

With regards to the helium valve, it's not about the distance from the case, but the gap on the side of the case where the helium valve is. None of the reps made has this..... See pic below so its clear what it means about the helium valve. It's more about the notch on the side of the case than it is about the valve itself.
