Received this from sead a few weeks ago, finally got around to working on it. I installed a eta 2824, gen datewheel as an overlay, gen tube, crown, and gen bezel click springs.

Date wheel install. Used an overlay tool that works great.

I reduced the thickness of the dial spacer as it is a bit thicker than needed even with the gen datewheel as and overlay. I did this to see if it would help with the mag issue. It seems to help reduce the mag a bit. Also gives the hands a little more distance from the dial.

Gen tube install. Had to tap the case and countersink the hole to except the new tube. The rep is only slotted for 1 o-ring internally so I decided to swap.

Next to my franken sub. All gen but the midcase and bracelet. The date looks a little better to me.

looking good!
a few days ago i did some of the mods you made to my jkf 5513, so i know how much work this all is.
the dwo change still needs to be done. where did you get that alignment disk for the dwo?
do you think its nessecary or possible without it?

I bought a gen spec cyclops from prof. Was going remove the stock one and replace with his. I put it up against the stock and the mag looked the same. I think the over mag issue is not the cyclops. I think it’s a distance issue. Reducing the thickness of the dial spacer ring made it look better. I may be wrong though.

One thing I did notice on the newer version I received.

Fixed the extra hole for the click spring. Machining Is poor though on the bottom left lug.

HEV valve is not recessed correct and not pressed in straight. I noticed that on QC but I mainly wanted it for the bezel so I let it fly. I may be able to press it back out and seat it correctly.

Case backs are not interchangeable which is odd also.

Slight reverence in the bevel of the crystal

I have a gen crystal in the works. When it arrives I will do a comparison.
