Today I've received my new ZF IWC 3714 from chazingtime.co

Ken and his crew from chazingtime did a amazing job as always! Thank you for that.
Ok, ZF released some weeks ago a new Portuguese 3714 with a slimmer case and a new movement inside.
The old 7750 was just to thick and the transmission for the running second from 9 to 6 was not really good for the movement reliability.
The old way was to use a normal sec@9 7750 and transmit the second to the 6 position with some gears on top of the movement. That's why the old movement was just too thick.
ZF goes a different way with this new 79350 clone.
But first some watch pics
The overall quality of this watch is really not bad!! Well done ZF
But now let's start with the more interesting part, in my opinion.
The inside of the watch.
First I unscrew the case back
First impression, hmmm looks like a 7750...
And it is a 7750 movement. Nothing more, nothing less. But with one specific feature.
The 3714 is a "top loader", that means you have to remove the crystal first to remove the movement from the case
The dial looks really good too
Next step for me is removing the hands
And now I can push out the dial/movement from the case
Some case pics
Next step removing the dial from the movement
And here we are....the new part of the movement
Let's remove the top plate and here we see the fist different and surprises, there is no sec@9
There are just three extra gears to bring the sec@6
And we also see jewels
So the trick is they use a new gear to tap the normal gear train directly at the third wheel. Pretty clever!
This is the transmission gear we talk about
When I remove the three extra gears we also see some jewels at the ground. So 3 wheels...6 jewels. Nice!
The rest of the movement is a standard 7750
And here is the complete movement in parts
So if we already have a movement in parts it's always good to clean all parts in the cleaning machine
And now is the movement ready to be assembled
Ok now the resume:
The new 7750 sec@6 movement from ZF is durable.
Well it's still a A7750 with all the goods and also all the bad's. But the transmission for the running second will be not longer a killer for the movement.
Of course I have seen the QC video with the broken chrono, but as I said before, it's a A7750. The chrono at my watch works absolutely flawless when I got the watch.
The movement was clean but at some points over-oiled, nothing new at a Chinese movement.
I hope you enjoyed my lite review and I would say let's go and order one of these watches for yourself.
