Well I disassembled my ZF Blancpain FF and here is some news:
I absolutely love the quality and craftsmanship if the Case, the bezel and so on, they did an amazing job there. everything looks and feels very gen-like and luxorious.
but when it comes to the dial and inside finish:
The hands and hour markers on the dial were scratched, smeared (fingerprints, lume uneven) and so on. horrific. the movement was running fine but when i just wanted to put the crown back in i wreched the crown push pin at the main bridge. then i had a closer look at the movement and it turned out that they didn´t print a whole date disk but simply took an old white one and glued a black date disk simply ontop of it. this caused the dial to sit unevenly on the movement!

I have now mirror polished hands and hour markers, relumed with superluminova c3.

I now sent the watch to domi so that he can install a swiss eta movement. then i guess the watch ins perfec both on the inside and outside. will upload pics in a week when it´s ready :)

Any chance you know the beat of the gen movement of FF. Is it the same as the one installed in rep, 28.800? The reason for the change to ETA is just personal satisfaction? Since the common opinion that the Seagull installed is quite good.
Thanks!

My ZF has absolutely spotless hour markers and hands. The dial had a bit of dust on it, but nothing noticeable with naked eyes. Better than any noob sub I have.

Yes, Blancpain's 1315 movement has 28800 bph.
I like the seagull and there's no reason to swap it for a swiss eta unless you just want to...
The only thing that needed correction on mine was balance end shake. Since then it runs as good as you could hope for :)

well the new eta would run with 4hz as well so still just as the seagull. the seagull is absolutely fine, i love it in my other reps but it seemed like i had bad luck with this particular one. i switch to eta because I love the FF, want to kep it i guess and with the eta i don´t have to worry at all about servicing for the next few years for sure.

So two students from Germany... :D
I would've repaired your seagull if you sent it to me for free and save you the cost of the swap.
But now it seems too late it appears.

Sounds great, i appreciate that :D I actually still have the watch because I was a little late, the post already closed. but i´m still sending it to domi for the movement swap. I look at those costs as short-time investments that make potential re-sales much easier and quicker. and i really didn´t like how that date disk looked like :D once seen or recognized it bugs me forever... i will definitely keep it though. love the watch. only if the new patek 324sc clone looks as good as i hope it does i might change for the aquanaut and the nautilus. or i keep it still and get them all, putting together a nice dress/diver collection :)

By the way, does anyone know if a replica of the x71 bracelet exists? i really need to have that bracelet!

fun side fact: a friend of mine teases me with the name "blancpain", eventhough it is not really correct, he names it "white-bread". now every time i see the watch i have to think of a french baguette :D

I am being told that ZF is out of stock on the FF. I wonder if or when they get more in will it be the same quality as the last batch??

Deja vu..... This same scenario played out when Noob's version first came out. The first batch sold out very quickly (those are the famed, highly sought-after V1). The next batch was noticeably below par. Hopefully, ZF will go the other way and improve rather than lowering the quality.

I sure hope so. It is a shame to see something done so well go so bad.

Lets hope the next batch can even maintain the current quality levels, I much prefer the new ZF to even the V1 because of the various improvements.
