Just took this photo of Gen at similar mag. None of this detail could be seen without big mag.

See? Even the 11 and 1 o'clock markers look different/mismatched when super zoomed on the gen! [emoji38]

The 11 o'clock marker appears longer because we can't see the base of the triangle in this photo, as opposed to the 1 o'clock marker. Obviously, that's a distortion caused by the doming of the crystal and the angle of the shot. My point being when you get into this level of magnification, you start seeing artifacts that aren't really there or significant.

Gotcha.
The stain on @ryuhell 's markers look fairly noticeable with the naked eye to me though. I have young and good eyes however :D

Can anyone recommend a good seller for the ZF BPFF?
Having a rough time deciding between the noob and ZF but seems like the ZF has quite a few slight improvements .... but just luck of the draw on the QC.

Ive contacted him but gotten no response. I also gave Ryan at intime a shout but he said that all the factories are closed for 7-10 days because of some summer holiday???

I'm not sure but I read something about a anniversary about sovereign Region in China or something, didn't do research but I remember Angus saying they stop shipping until second of July due to extremely strict costums in that time period.

I went to the website of noob/ZF comparison video, they have a useful thread as a reference for N/ZF/Gen comparison.

http://tieba.baidu.com/p/5145026194

Myself is a noob v1 owner, and after looking at those pictures, ZF is not enough for me to upgrade because...
1. The hour markers are more polish and rounded on the edge of Noob's version which is more gen like, where ZF is sharp on the edge.
2. The bezel teeth noob is very very close to gen, but ZF looks off...looks weirdly off, not sure how to describe it.

However, ZF does have a few compelling upgrades, most noticeably the strap bar and the screw head!! It seems much stronger to hold than the noob one which I lost the screw head within days of wearing!! Also the outer layer on the dial of noob is race track pattern (that's how they described it in the comparison), where ZF is flat and hairline pattern, looks exactly like gen. Other than that, since I have the v1, my bezel numbers are close to gen so it's a tie. The bezel color is too minor I kinda just ignore it....

If they can fix all the flaws mentioned above, I will immediately buy the ZF BFF.....but until then, I will keep waiting and enjoy my v1! Thanks.

That's an outstanding comparison. Thanks for the link. To be fair, I think ZF got closer to gen than Noob in several areas. If the QC inconsistency isn't such an issue, I believe ZF does indeed give Noob a good run for it's money. I'm a Noob v1 owner too, so I'll pass for now. However, the ZF blue is definitely on my "Gotta have it" list.

Opened up the case back of the ZF BPFF.

Can anyone tell what movement this is?

The little screws on the metal cover of the movement were a pain in the ass to deal with. I had real trouble getting the last screw in when I was putting it back. It just bounced out of the screw hole 3 times. Managed to find it twice but on the 3rd time I lost it for real. Good thing the cover is still tight with only 2 screws.

Well I disassembled my ZF Blancpain FF and here is some news:
I absolutely love the quality and craftsmanship if the Case, the bezel and so on, they did an amazing job there. everything looks and feels very gen-like and luxorious.
but when it comes to the dial and inside finish:
The hands and hour markers on the dial were scratched, smeared (fingerprints, lume uneven) and so on. horrific. the movement was running fine but when i just wanted to put the crown back in i wreched the crown push pin at the main bridge. then i had a closer look at the movement and it turned out that they didn´t print a whole date disk but simply took an old white one and glued a black date disk simply ontop of it. this caused the dial to sit unevenly on the movement!

I have now mirror polished hands and hour markers, relumed with superluminova c3.

I now sent the watch to domi so that he can install a swiss eta movement. then i guess the watch ins perfec both on the inside and outside. will upload pics in a week when it´s ready :)
