I get your sentiment and while I do find that factories do release new versions to get more buyers, there has NEVER been a perfect v1 replica. Even the old true "1:1" Panerais go through many iterations to get them perfect. Anyways the solution is simple. Don't ever buy the first version of a popular watch.
Honestly the same process can be followed for vehicles. I try not to buy the first year model of a new vehicle line. Usually most bugs have been ironed out by the 2nd year and on.

Full build or movement? Movement is much less than 11k for sure, I got one.
You guys are talking about a Vaucher Vaucher or a clone Vaucher ?

The Parmigiani is a hybrid, as parmigiani never made movements for RM, they use Vaucher, so if my logic is correct they use Vaucher movements taken from “cheap” tondas and use the parts on a clone plate. Not bad but definitely should be cheaper than a real Vaucher RM movement which is just like buying a gen 3135 for a sub.

This is precisely correct as far as I'm aware, the Parmi movements are taken from watches that use the same Vaucher seed, and the wheels are pulled out onto a set of cloned plates. I seem to remember reading that someone got a batch of like 150 Parmi watches way under list price and used the movements from those to create the "Parmigiani" movements, and anyone outside of that claiming Vaucher means a clone.

That's what my dealer told me also. I'm trying to decide to go ZF or full Parmigiani build.

Any company can buy Vaucher movements each around 3-4k CHF. If 150 even less.

If Vaucher agrees to sell them to you, lol. I think in the 150+ range they're like $1.5k each, someone here did the math years ago on what a seed order would cost but the biggest gatekeep was getting Vaucher to sell them to you/your company specifically.

I'm in SEA, safe to wear anything here. I wouldn't rock it anywhere in the EU. A good friend of mine actually got his gen RM stolen in UK, right off his wrist.
Well, I’m in the uk 😂

Probably not that low, but I see your point.
They need to check everything before selling I guess.

V3 is out, according from intime the change is: V3 updated the RMUL2 super clone movement structure, also updated the Silver blasted finishing as genuine.

I would like to meet the guy at ZF managing their release schedule.
With this update and price point its really good not really worth the upgrades if they fix the other holes and 2 more minor things, other than that this price is so good with what you get. Once a v4 comes out there's probably very little reason to get the more expensive upgrade.

It's a catch 22 though. Let's not kid ourselves, it's a business, these Chinese rep factories don't make upgrades and put resources, R&D from the kindness of their hearts.

Bottom line: they do the bare minimum to generate the maximum profit.
If buyers easily settled, ignored flaws, the reps would not be where they are now and we'd still be stuck with crappy deco movements.

So we're all benefiting from picking flaws apart. I think there's also a time and place for admiring, but recognise there is still room for improvement.

Yes.

Honestly, I remeber people begging for this model saying they would do anything for a clone like this.

And then when it's released, of course, people instantly criticized the shark fin strap, the color of the rehaut ring, and then the brushing of the ribs. :ROFLMAO:

Sometimes I wonder what would really satisfy replica addicts. Watch collectors in general are some of the hardest people to satisfy.
