My understanding is the only update are the ‘ribs’ with a better finishing. Rationally I don’t think it’s worth the upgrade since you’ll only notice that in macro shots on RWI but not with the watch on the wrist, but my OCD brain will always look at it and know there is a perfected version out there.

Honestly, I remeber people begging for this model saying they would do anything for a clone like this.
And then when it's released, of course, people instantly criticized the shark fin strap, the color of the rehaut ring, and then the brushing of the ribs.
Sometimes I wonder what would really satisfy replica addicts. Watch collectors in general are some of the hardest people to satisfy.
For sub $1000 it is geniunely an insane watch objectively. The case construction, materials used, shape, movement, these are not easy things to do, we are just spoiled. People think the Chinese wizards wave a wand and suddenly a case appears but as someone in manufacturing, I can appreciate how hard it is to make this case.
I understand your sentiment and appreciate the efforts that go into making these watches. However, what frustrates me is that in a couple of months, there will be a V2 or V3 with updated colors and improved movements. These “improvements” and “updates” could have been offered in the V1 version since they exist for other models. It seems like the factories follow a pattern of launching a new model with excess parts or miss produced parts, and then gradually “improve” the watch over time in the name if V2, V3.
I get your sentiment and while I do find that factories do release new versions to get more buyers, there has NEVER been a perfect v1 replica. Even the old true "1:1" Panerais go through many iterations to get them perfect. Anyways the solution is simple. Don't ever buy the first version of a popular watch.
