I was about to order the ZF from my TD but noticed while comparing pictures on other TD sites that there is now an XF V3 available.

Does anyone know what improvements were made with the V3?

The dial print still looks to be more flat than the ZF but the color seems a little better. IMO, the dial color / gradient is hard to judge due to the various lighting conditions of the pictures.

Anyone...?

Well, I just purchased a gen and wanted to get the XF v3 to do a comparison, but they're not in Stock. I doubt the ZF is as close, so not gonna bother. Unless someone believes ZF has a closer proximation to gen.

Looking at the gen, do you have any idea what kind of a brushed finish it has on the sides?

Imo both XF and ZF are wrong because they used a higher grit to simply give it a brushed finish where as the gen has a more satin random brush probably with steel wool or scotsbright.

Some good lightning macros would be helpful since I'm a specialist in abrasives.

Also ZF dial print is more 3d then XF but they make their shild too fat so it's an easy tell, xf isnt as 3d but 1:1 gen.

So probably ZF looks better on the wrist because of the double painted 3D effect (they first print with a thicker see trough and apply the bronze/gold paint after) giving it a gen like pop but XF is 1:1 in size spacing just missing the 3d pop

What images are these? XF, ZF, or gen? I'll attempt to macro as best I can. I'm terrible at photography, probably because I can't see results without 3X + reading glasses.

Gen, if you compare these with the pure time macros of both factories you see the XF is 1:1 but ZF even if flawed looks more gen like on the wrist because of the 3d POP

Big difference is also that XF is putting paint into the crown tudor rose logo so it wont patina like gen and ZF

According to puretime’s website, the XF v3 doesn’t have any paint on the crown:

Well, I just ordered the ZF from puretime, I always wanted to attempt a picture comparison with a decent rep to gen. I'll just C&R when done.

Check out any XF bronzo watch with patina and you'll see the inside of the tudor rose never patina, your picture looks like paint check our the ZF crown to compare or gen close up.
Also here you can see the gen satin finish ZF and XF both have long grain metal brush effect going.
