ZF AP 15202 hand stack

Hi everyone.

As you all know, the hand stack for the AP 15202 by ZF is terrible. What to do? Is there any other hands on the market to buy as alternative? Or could a really good watch smith do something about it?

You actually have 3 choices if you want a different set of hands:

1. Gen hands can be modded to fit but it’ll be a waste of the Gen hands.

2. Custom hands. These are made for the K2121 movement and again they can be modded to fit the miyota movement.

3. Modded hands. The hand base is trimmed, beveled and polished.

From my view, the best way forward seems to get watch smith that coud trim down the hour hand a bit. To have it modded

If the custom hands exist...
Do you know a watch parts seller of these 15202 hands ? If he makes them, the gen holes must be at least thinner in order to broaden them (for the Miyota). If they are thicker, it's not easy to add material... But they should be thinner...

It could fit if the holes of the quartz hands are smaller than the Miyota axis. If it's really the case, you could mod them to it the Miyota. It's better than cutting around the stack...

Has BP a thinner handbase ? The problem is due to the Miyota axis (very big for the hour hand).

If they use the Miyota, it's difficult (1.52 mm hole for the hour hand).

There's a such thing as DP 15202 hands? I'm only aware of DP hands for the 15500. Don't think I've seen anything for the 15202 here or on reddit or on Hillbilly's feed.

@Fettekatze All aftermarket hands for 15202, including DP hands, only fit the gen 2121 movement.

It is possible to mod them to fit MY9015 but that requires an enormous skilled effort

Also, I wonder if gen hand or custom hand(dp hands i guess) will fit in K2121 without modding. (Like enlarging hands hole)

Yes it can be modded to fit the ZF case. The gen hands will fit the pinion, and the custom hands will often need to be refined slightly to fit perfectly given the machining tolerance.
