So is the general consensus that the 23J version sucks compared to the 2824 version? Different construction totally, not just the movement?

Not "sucks" necessarily. From what I have read the 2824 version has a beeter strap an more of a correct buckle. Crystal is better and caseback is better. From the review of the bronze version compared side by side to a 2824 ss version there are some small upgrades including the buckle and crystal I think. Try the 21/23J version and upgrade if you like it. The 21J have popped up in the sales forum for decently cheap.

Glad to see the blue dial repped. Just got the bronze (which I love), but I'm very tempted to add the blue dial to my collection.

They just reused the standard case back on the blue one so wrong model number and no limited edition number.

Strap update. Ideal measurements for a custom strap are 23.5/22.5. The strap narrows approx 1mm
