A white ceramic Hublot from Hont. Still one of the best dealers I have delt with. As for the watch ... I don't wear it so much because A) it's too nice, and B) the strap has some yellowing that I can't get rid of, nor find a replacement.

Actually, the very very first watch I bought was a mechanical U-Boat in China when I was shopping around there on vacation. Since then, I have found the forums and continued to buy from dealers since.

I got three at the same time. As I was on my cell phone ordering a PO from puretime, I found two great DSSD's (one SS, one PVD) from a "private" collection of a gold souk vendor in Bahrain.

Like txrob779, a two-tone day date in the 1980's from Roman Road market in London.

Quartz movement packed up after a few years, by which time the 'gold' plating had worn through to show the pot-metal underneath. The whole thing weighed about 50 grams and the bracelet rattled like a train.

I have said his before, over in my house, The ChatBox....I was stupified why you guys all had crazy pants for Panerai back then, I just did NOT GET IT, at all. But, RWI, RWG, RG was blow'd UP with PAM threads (why PAM when its PAN it thought, these Euro's must be stoned LOL). I finally GOT IT when I bought my 111M H factory from Josh in April 2011....
Still only seen like 3 or 4 PAM's in the wild in Dallas/FtWorth ever in my life...but I GET IT NOW....

First rep from Canal Street, a noob? Sub C with a replaced pearl (lost the original on a cross country flight - a victim to stuffing a bag into the overhead). Its actually pretty good. Aligned rehault and bezel, lightly etched crown, water tight. Currently the sub is undergoing a movement transplant by my watchsmith using a locally sourced Swiss ETA. I bought this as a present to myself for my big 55, will keep it around as a keepsake to launching this weird rep interest of mine:

Mine was a Sub from someone on RWG.. Said it was some kind of noob Sub (not from the noob factory but a newbie Sub). Looked good on me, but the bracelet pins kept on falling out, one time in a meeting and made me look a bit foolish.

Sold it after a few months. Never went back to Subs.

Beginmariner? Joshdrew? pre TTK noobmariner maybe?

Noobmariner vs. Beginmariner (CN vs. ETA)
I am admittedly a noob to Rollie reps. I've been comparing the subs listed on Andrew's and Josh's sites, and I'm getting a migraine because they all look the same to me. Aside from the movement, are these all the same watch?:

Andrew ROLSUB0007 (CN 21J)
Andrew ROLSUB0001 (ETA 2836)
Josh RLSS10009 (CN 2813)
Josh RLSS10001 (ETA 2836)

Actually, from reading an earlier thread, I've realized that Josh's ETA is a completely different watch. However, what about the other three?

Is there a comparison guide to these noobmariner watches somewhere?

I should probably just stick to IWCs.

Most likely a Beginamariner. At that time noobmariner and beginnamariner were interchanged alot because everyone was confusing noob with newb. That was when the Noobfactory wasn't producing such high end reps as they are now and had that prestige about them back then.

It did have some mods done to it such as shaved crown guards and such, but it was just a flashy first watch for a newb like myself at the time.

As for the cartel subs you mention, they "may" be different watches, as the movements fit differently in the watches, so it may or may not be a different case or it may be just a matter of a cheaper case for a cheaper watch.

In any event, if you are going nuts over the different types of subs, then DON'T. Only if you are going to be entirely anal and by so WISsy about it then be, but as we all know, nobody will be able to tell the difference on your wrist.
