Well guys, if you've seen my posts around these parts, you will know for sure that my RBII is my fave. In fact just yesterday I posted a picture and said that my incoming GP will have some stiff competition for love. Well a mere matter of hours after that post, disaster struck.
I noticed that the chrono seconds hand was not straight. It soon became clear that the hand had come off the pinion. I have no idea how this happened as it was sat in my watch box since taking the earlier picture and as I picked it out to wear it, I was mortified at the sight.
I had a billion and one dad and man jobs to do at the time so had to just put it down and slap in another, but as I went about my 'honey do' list, I could think of nothing other than my poor Rubens and what I would need to do. I decided that I'd give the repair a go myself.
For all the budding novices out there, this is for you..... have confidence, you can do it. It is not as daunting as it seems. I have a pretty basic set of tools, and could really do with some better ones, but what I have was enough to do the trick.
I am pleased to report that with a little advice from the legend, JS slaughterer62 and a lot of encouragement from my man Jeane123 I was able to get the job done. A thread like this is worthless without pictures, so my friends......
You can do it too!!
