Hi buddy'
I have all my Rolex reps in the the 2836/4 movements. I took the decision initially to go with this movement as i intend to teach myself to work on my watches myself so wanted to keep all the movements the same, Also with no cosmetic difference between the models it was a financial consideration I suppose given the volume of reps I buy. I have never had any trouble with any of these movements in my watches and in my eyes they are certainly as good as required to match the quality of the external craftsmanship :)

Have you been able to compare your Rhodium colour dial with the Gen ?

Hi @Robb,
I have had chance to compare the dial with a gen and it's very very close indeed. I can't comment in daylight conditions on the gen but the sunburst on the rep is amazing and you really get that kaleidoscope effect around the dial. I initially wanted a gen in this model but my AD informs me to order this watch from new it is anything upto 2/3yrs which may or may not be the case if you shopped around but I wanted it now so @sead1999 hooked me up once again with about a 10 day wait from order to wrist
All in all, I have a number of Rolex reps, GMT II, Sub Tempus Machina, DSSD deep blue, YM 116622, Milgauss. Without a doubt, In my eyes the latest Noob YM116622 is the best rep I own with only perhaps the exception of an IWC doppelchronograph spitfire which is just amazing
Hope this helps

Wow yours is beautiful.

I need some second opinions regarding my 2824 too, does the cyclop positions and DW seem off? That's my only concern, unless someone else points out other flaws, thanks!!

Did you think from only a comparisant visuall point of view it looked the same as the Gen ?

It's extremely gen like visually, the biggest tell for me as with most Rolex reps is having gen Rolex sport models myself the bracelets just aren't as good. That is the biggest tell for me but generally from a looks perspective, dial, hands, DW even the crystal I think are excellent on this watch comparatively to gen

I know there are quite a lot of Pages in this entire thread, but I believe some members did a comparison to Gen from a visual point ;regarding dial colour, the light effect etc, in the earlier pages. I think that might help!

Regarding your earlier qn about the blue dial JF. The reason why the better option for the blue is to get a noob one and then swap the dial for a JF blue is because the JF's case and bracelet etc isn't as good as the noob; it's only their blue dial that's superior.

Hey mate, I'm just guessing you're pretty new here but honestly the TDs won't know these details like we do - this topic has been discussed in many threads across different brand forums as well. It's the buyers like us who nitpick compare etc and use forums like these to share these information so as to help one another. And for that, I'm really grateful.

If you take the time to read thru all 50 pages of this thread and the other YM one you'll see the discussion regarding the blue (with pictures as well), rhodium and platinum dials - which I have also summarised for you above.

Alternatively, you can do what all the other members will tell you to - ie use the search function. There are threads on the YM blue dial. The search function was also what helped me get all these info I'm sharing.

No offence at all and cheers.
