Would you chose BP or Noob PO?

Hello
Joined the forum a few days ago and what a great place it is with all the advice and help on offer.
Im just about to buy my first rep and want a planet ocean 45mm with black rubber strap, ceramic bazel with black face and orange numbers.
I did not have a clue about BP factory and the Noob factory until I read more on this forum so I have a choice of a PO from the BP factory with a Swiss movement or a Noob one with a clone movement but is the Noob worth the $80 more that I'm seeing from the dealers?
Opinions would be most welcome.
Thanks.

Firstly,
Hello and welcome to the forum buddy.
From reading around on here I have found that it is all personal. What you like, someone else won't.
Personally I would want to pay the extra $80 for the Noob as in the grand scheme of things £48 is not a lot of money for the watch I'd want.
So you just need to take into consideration what you want and prefer, as well as what you will be happy with in the future, as regardless of how well put and directed someone else's opinion is, if it sways you to purchase a watch you later regret purchasing, it is the wrong opinion. I say it is the wrong opinion as despite everyone being entitled to have an opinion, it is only yours that matters as it is your money that is being spent and furthermore it is your wrist this watch will be sitting on with you looking at it.

Nice choice of watch by the way ;)

noob is good. I asked this question myself a while back and the consensus was noob all the way.

Noob hands down. Just got a 42mm pumpkin and the thing is built superbly.

I'm wearing the BP and have to say it's built like a rock. So many times I thought I scratched the AR and the marks wipe off just being oils. That said, I wish the noob was out when I got mine. It's definitely more accurate aesthetically. Word to the wise; always buy a watch with the bracelet and then buy a secondary rubber. In my experience it's ultimately cheaper that way. Even if it makes no price difference, which I've never seen, and you absolutely hate steel bracelets, I would still go with the bracelet and get secondary strap and just store the bracelet. The reason is because the resale value will be higher if you have the bracelet. When you go to flip it to buy another watch you'll get more money.

Exactly what I did. Bought it on bracelet and purchased the new BP rubber strap with stitching which looks way better than the noob rubber.

The noob rubber is a different design with tang. BP is nice on deployant. No pics at the moment.

Thnks to everyone who replied. After a bit more reading it seems that the Noob version is currently not available and some people are being sent the L factory version instead without being told.

Noob, without a doubt. Just the AR coating on the crystal alone is a major reason. And I much prefer a new asian 2836 over a NOS ETA2836.

The Noob can be had with rubber deployant as well. I bought a Noob PO with a rubber deployant as stock and a few spare BP rubber deployants for my other PO's and they're exactly the same. I'm pretty sure Noob and BP source the deployant rubbers from the same factory, not sure about the tang buckle rubbers.

Well it looks like no Noob models are around at all. Asked the TD if they had any in stock and they replied that it would take a week to process before posting. I sent them another message saying that other members on here were being told by other dealers that there was none in stock and some people were receiving watches fron the L factory without being told. Received another reply saying that the watch was not in stock and check back in a couple of weeks.
Looks like it pays to double check everything with your dealer before parting with the cash especially mentioning about the L factory models that are about.

I'm pretty new here and, following the advice of many others, spent quite a long time researching TDs before pulling the trigger on my first rep last week. As you will read, most dealers have access to all the same product, and so buy the dealer not the watch. I'm very happy with my choice - TD has great communication and has checked with me every step of the way.

With regards to BP v. Noob, you might have seen this side-by-side comparison, but in case you haven't check here: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=69284 It is really helpful because no rep is perfect. You can see in this comparison there are areas where BP beats Noob (e.g. the bezel insert), and others where Noob beats BP (e.g. the date font), and so it's worth choosing based on what features are most important to you.

All the best.

Oh, and these come up on the members sales corners reasonably often. I just grabbed the 42mm black version from another member in Australia (which was a real bonus). You just have to check pretty often and buy as soon as you see one, because P.O.s do not last very long at all, especially the Noob CrPOs.

Well it looks like a choice between the BP 45mm with black ceramic bazel and orange numbering on a black rubber strap with orange stitching or the noob 42mm with orange bazel and bracelet which a TD can get. The perfect combo for me would be look of the BP but made by noob but these are not about and nobody knows when they will. Worried that I'll get tired of the orange bazel on the 42mm noob and that it might look a bit small on my large wrists. Am I looking into this too much and should I just buy the one I like the look of no matter who makes it, is the BP really that much worse than the noob version?
i think I'm beginning to answer my own question, this buying a first rep is hard work :). I would still welcome opinions.
Thanks
