It’s extremely easy when you have funds to build the near perfect vintage Rolex.. very difficult when you have a tight budget. To me it’s the challenge of it. A Vietnam case for all its worth is not perfect and needs work as well.

having a limited budget gives you the incentive to improve the cartel case as much as possible,obviously how well you know the difference from the Vietnam case and that accepts all the original parts, but as you say, small budget but great satisfaction

Nice work! You actually beat up the crown a bit. I didn’t think anyone else did that. Lol. I always do that with atheya crowns. They’re way too sharp for a 50+ year old watch so I soften the edges a bit.
Don’t buy a damn thing from WSO. They’re complete asses. Bought a datewheel from them a few months ago. Returned it as soon as I looked at it. Didn’t even take it out of the wrapper because I could see through it and could see that none of the numbers were centered on the teeth. When they got it, they claimed that it was damaged and they weren’t gonna give me a refund. When I told them what I did and that I packed it back in the same padded envelope they sent it to me in, they just replied and said “well, it was damaged”. Then they gave me a half refund and told me to contact eBay because they cover damages from shipping a lot of times. So they’re basically scamming eBay and customers. I don’t order anything from them anymore.
As for what bezel fits cartel cases, I don’t think any aftermarket ones do. You could try Clark’s. I think he sells them as a set. Maybe raffles. I think they sell them as sets too.

Fitted as best I could the watchman408. Definitely fits perfectly just need a bezel press because it’s tight. But looks much much better then stock. Excuse the crappy pics. I messed up the plexi so I ordered a new one..
