we all know the rep makers are cheap.. but bronze is not expensive. I spoke to some of the raw materials purchasers at work and they said you can get bronze(CuSn8) for $15usd a kilo. A google search shows the same thing.

But if there is a brass material for $14 a kilo.. I suspect thats what we'll end up with..

Does Angus have a metal alloy test from the two samples he has received? Otherwise he doesn't know himself and this just salesmanship TBO.

well.. for me if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck. He knows that it will be picked apart and must look like gen for it to be succesful.

Why do you say that? It will be successful because folks want to believe it is real bronze and enablers like Ale hype it up. But they will need to leave something for V2, V2.5, V3, and so on ad nauseum... :lol:

You lot are being naive tho. If the Chinese "bronze" case procucers can't get it consistently right for the gen micro brand scene, what makes you think they will for some cheap replica production run? They will cut corners like they always do and we will get a brass or low grade alloy, but will not be real CuSn8 bronze. Until we see a metal alloy test results no one will really know what these are made of.

I have a titanium IWC, that can hardly get a scratch, meanwhile everyone moaned about the Pam 177 scratching easily because it was titanium...:thinking:

I agree 100% trk! I will buy one even if not real bronze if I like how it looks. But what I don't understand is why the need to propagate dealer snake oil salesman tactics in the meantime?

well, there is no reason for that, but so far, we don't know what it will be, and if anyone believes it will be real bronze, let's just say that it is optimism rather than propaganda I hope it will be real bronze. I have no idea if it will be tho' or wether it's even possible. :shlug:

There aren't any photos yet. Angus just saw some photos of the alloy to be used and he says they're very nice.
