bronze is cheap. Its just a premium right now because people want to pay that for it.

I mean isn't tin more than costly than stainless steel? now they could use aluminum based i guess or manganese compounds. I just don't trust a sold bronze case will come about.

Now Tantalum is expensive about 10X the price of stainless

But per kg this is £200ish, not sure what wastage would be in machining and how much would be consumed making a watch from Tantalum etc But if it was another £100 I'd LOVE a 172 Super Rep

Good news !!

We already know that Noob, KW and Z maker are working in PAM 382 Bronzo
Z maker is the watchmaker who is working with Angus developing PAM 389.

The first expected release is from KW or Z maker, in about two or three months.

You know the release is usually delayed several times...

But maybe is true that we will get a Bronzo !!!

OF COURSE: I'm talking about a real Bronze watch

Realistic best case scenario is it will probably be made out of brass. But that's better than nothing.

I don't think so

If makers decide to change of material, bronze is expensive but the difference will not be significant in the price of this watch
Besides a good Bronze is good for machining and finsh

No need to go to "cheap" Brass in this case
I think that if we get a real Bronzo we will get it made of real Bronze

Oh, they will tell you it is real bronze of course, made 1:1 to gen.

My money says it will not be proper CuSn8 bronze based on all the other bronze/brass cases coming out of China and debacles that have ensued over the past couple of years. Just look at what River currently sells like his "bronze" horn lug. Everyone were advertised as bronze, but indeed when the metal was tested they are all a brass alloy, much different patina for sure. Look at all the bronze hiccups with the micro brands that have offered them using Chinese sourced cases (Zenton, Olivier, Helson, Magrette, etc.). Every single one had initial bronze alloy issues based on China sourced cases, most recalling or just giving up (like Magrette).

Everyone's entitled to an opinion Ale, but you base it on hope and rep fairy tales, not on facts exhibited by the recent history of Chinese supposed bronze alloy watch case manufacturing. They continue to not get it right and do go "cheap" with the micro gen scene. All of a sudden you think they will go the extra mile for a replica watch? History tells us this is most likely not the case.

I will bet you my rep collection that if/when these come out en masse they will not be CuSn8 bronze. Likely scenario is brass or rejected low grade alloy from gen manufacturing. But this would at least be better than the gold plated SS that's currently available. ;)

Well either way I'm very very excited to hear this news, I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. If its brass I won't purchase it.

Hi GBOGH
Sorry to not realize you were the poster, because you really are more authorized than me to talk about this matter.

Yes, I really was excited and basing on hopes.
Unfortunately you could be right, but I sincerely hope that seeing the makers involved we will be able to get real bronze.
I don't know if the gen is exactly CuSn8 bronze or other alloy because as you know there are infinity bronze classes. Even many brass are bordering bronze frontier and many times is not clear the exact limit between two copper alloys. Maybe there are even translation problems because in Spanish Bonze=Bronce and Brass= Latón and the frontier is not clear.

I repeat I hope we will get real Bronzo form Noob and KW (I don't know yet Zmaker possibilities).
It would not even be bad if we get some rejected low grade bronze alloy from gen manufacturing.

I would be even happy getting any Copper alloy based on Tin (Sn) instead of a Cooper alloy based in Zinc (Zn).

Thanks for your magnificent and clarifying post
