Why is Aquatimer Chrono 3768 not more popular?

I did an archive search here, and on every other rep form I know, and I can find very little info on this model. I am considering the V6F version. Is there a reason people are avoiding this piece? Is it just the large size, or are their QC issues or tells in the rep that I should be aware of?

People avoid watches that run on a A7750 movement because of significant reliability issues. Pretty sure by looking at the dial set-up, this runs on the A7750 movement.

I was -- am probably now leaning towards not being -- interested in an IWC pilot with the same movement.

I'm just hoping there are no major flaws in the design, and I'm hoping someone can tell me if the V6SF is the best version or not.

Seriously, the whole "A7750 reliability issues" is a MYTH! I've literally owned over a hundred A7750-based reps and only two of them had issues. One had the old low beat version of the A7750, which everyone knew had reliability issues (and which hasn't been used in a rep for at least a decade) and the other was in a V3 Super Avenger, which was known to have gotten a bad batch of movements. Other than those two - the other 98 A7750's - have never given me even a glimmer of trouble. In fact, I've had a higher ratio of bad A2824 movements over the years. So please, can we all stop wtih the fear of the A7750?

I sooo want this to be true. It's dumb. And, I think that maybe I have done too much research and it has scared me away. It's just hard to filter out the 7750 trolls ... there are a lot of them.

For what it's worth, I do also agree that this is a sharp watch.

Any time you buy a Chinese movement, you can get a bad one. I'm not doubting the fact that others may have had bad luck. It happens. Heck, I've had bad luck with SWISS movements. The whole A7750 myth started 15-20 years ago when the old low beat A7750 was still being used by several factories, but those days are long gone. As a rule of thumb, if you see people (i.e. more than 1 isolated incident) complaining about getting a bad A7750 from a particular rep made by a particular factory, then there's a chance that there's a bad batch in circulation and it would pay to be cautious. Otherwise, if the movement runs well when you first receive it, then there's a good chance it will continue to run fairly well for years to come. If it doesn't run well, contact your TD asap.

I am a fan of the Aquatimer line but the 3768 is too thick for me.
That's the biggest "flaw" in my book.

No, no es Cousteau.
Es la versión de 42 mm, 3719.

Mis IWC "antiguos" (tambien 3717 e Mark XVI 3255) son los relojes que más me gustan.
No creo que los venda nunca.

Ni siquiera tengo rolex, me gustan pero no soporto la imagen que tiene la marca.

Ése es el mayor "defecto" en mi libro.

El AQUATIMER del 35 aniversario tiene solo 14,5 mm de grosor. No es un crono

7750 is one of the most reliable movements in gen form.

The reason why in the past A7750s werent reliable is because of the crappy chinese manufacturing. These days the A7750s are pretty damn reliable even with Sec@6 and Sec@12 movements.

It was way back like 2010 - 2014 or so that these asian 7750s were not so reliable.

Even Eta 7750s might have issue with the chrono sweep hand (not resetting properly due to slipping subdual hands and sweep chrono hand). It's good practice not to use the stop watch too often.

I am very cautions with my eta 7750s too and gen handsets.
