I just ordered the 177l from Timeshops, I'm hoping I get it soon. I didn't get a receipt or anything like that, but seems like everyone thinks the dealer is one of the best dealers on here next to Lay. If anyone is looking for a 177l, there is one in stock left I believe. I had to pay full price though, but figured might as well, at $228 + shipping, seems like a deals still. Has anyone here have input on TS? I'm in U.S. in CA, and I shipped EMS.

So MM you would recommend that 253 as a super rep? I'm really interested in the 253, any thoughts on that one? It looks to have the mini fiddy case and I wonder if they have the easy strap changing tool on there as well? Is this something Lay or TS would carry I assume as well?

Thanks for all your help guys and I'll let you know how my experience with TS goes.

253 super rep? not even close really. the crap crystal and crap movement
pull it from that category quickly. it's pretty nice, the best 253 yet, but
far from being a super rep.

only tool you need to change straps is a small screwdriver.

Can anyone comment on the quality difference, if any, between Lay and Mike (Timeshops)? Lay just informed me that they're out of dials and titanium buckles which means no 177L before Chinese New Year.

I thought about just ordering from Timeshops. I just see so many good quality 177L from Lay which made me feel better ordering from him, but now, this sucks =/

Timeshops is Mark, not Mike.

there's a vast difference in quality between the two companies I think. Lay offers far more options
with shipping, repair, exchanges, warranty, qc, communication, and such.

no difference in the watches, or shouldn't be anyway.

Thanks so much MMs!

I appreciate it. I'll buy quality customer service any day of the year. I'll just wait for Lay until he produces more.

If anyone wants to buy the 177L from Lay, he's OOS. Just FYI guys.

I've got the 253 and I'm happy with it, like anything you'll have tolerances for what you are happy with at what price, you can never expect an exact $10k + watch for under $300. I should find a picture of that daylight rep w/ the white date wheel, faux chrono pushers and everything else that looks nothing like a daylight, someone might be happy with it though.

We are a pretty picky client base and Id say the rep makers would rather just churn out crap that can be sold out of an overcoat, but the markets there for *good* replicas so they'll keep trying.

For me personally the new 253 is fine unless you are trying to pass it off as real, as MMs said its no 177 but Id say you'll be happy with it, I have it on a carbon fibre strap alot of people dont like those, again personal preference.

If ever questioned about my watches rarely if ever and specifically any Panerai rep I just say its some watch I found that's plain looking, glows really bright and with big numbers that I can see while riding.

Thank for the reply guys. Supposedly I have my 177l in the mail from timeshop, now with these comments, I'm getting a bit nervous regarding quality. If its the same company, shouldnt the QC be the same as well? Anyways, can anyone chime in on the QC and watch quality (hopefully from same factory) of a 177L purchased from timeshop?

It would be nice to get some feedback on QC, shipping, the watch itself, etc.

Thanks in advance.

The 177L's all come from the same factory. Different trusted dealers have different levels of QC (some don't QC at all), but they all get the 177L from the same factory. I have never bought from TS before so I can't comment on their QC process, but if it shows up and it does not function properly, TS, as a trusted dealer, will work with you.

Ok thanks guys. I just wanted to see if anyone had experience with TS regarding QC and exchanges (hopefully not the case). Can't wait to get it.

I have ordered from TS, they send QC pictures within a few days. They have very good communication.

I've basically bought blind as they only had 2 in stock left they said. I'm hoping the QC is good..or the exchange policy is good at least...
