Does he make the best no date sub?I will need it within 3 days of ordering. Do they really buy Rolex from the factory with no movement, and put in a Swiss movement? Swiss is best. I know bc I googled it. I’m willing to pay a premium, but I need a 1:1 clone, and it’s just bc I admire the design so much it must be perfect. It’s not like I’m considering lying to people and saying it’s real, no way! And I would never give the girl I hope will stay with me a fake and claim it’s real! Nope not me. I also wouldn’t sell it online and claim it’s real so you can trust me.

I'd never even given this a moment's thought, but it certainly makes perfect sense in terms of explaining Reddit's market share of Google search results - when those results, if followed, will lead the innocent into a hideous den of misinformation, ignorance and utter bollocks.

But is it TRULY 1:1? I mean, do you think people will be able to tell? I know a gem alligator is well over $500, so is the $5 mass produced one that comes with the rep 1:1 also?
I Googled C Factory and got a guy on WhatsApp, he’s a salesman for C Factory. He gets them direct from factory, with Swiss movement, plus he guarantees it’s the best, but he’s not a TD. He promised me it’s the best, so clearly he couldn’t be lying. Should I buy from him? I think I’ll pull the trigger! It’s only $850, but I read that if it’s not $800, it’s a bad rep.

Well, lesson learned. I finally got the watch, but I think it’s a AAA +++, not a Swiss super rep. I can’t believe it! He says that the factory made a small mistake when they forgot the corbichon, so he promises he’s gonna give me a good deal on another watch. He says I should get a Daytona, bc they’re the best. It’s only $350, but it’s a Clean. Is Clean good? Who do I talk to at Clean to verify that theirs is the best?

Do not believe what the chinese fellows say when they promise you the sky and the earth, especially if they are not even a TD at all.

Many a times, those fellows will claim to be at Factory level but trust me 99.999%, it is never the truth.

I find RepTime to be a totally different crowd entirely.

Quite a lot of people who are controlled by some dealers over there to downvote on TDs like myself and some others.

I have been really nice with the crowd but I think there is a lot of negative things going around and so I rather be staying in RWI Forums.

That being said, as with *any* subject or hobby, I've come to realize reddit is only good if you are getting into it, and once you know what you are talking about you get increasingly frustrated with the absolute nonsense on there.

Reddit is an interesting platform. There are gems of knowledge there BUT so much inaccurate statements too. The paradox is that in order to validate the knowledge there, you actually need to already have that knowledge to filter out the stupid things.

I couldn't have said it better. There is very good knowledge interdispersed between all of the inaccuracies, clueless buffoons and scammers , add lovely things like the alignment tool and the actual good knowledge and cerebral discussions that are present gets lost in the mix, and give a bad reputation to all knowledge there which of course is not not justified.

Put another way, imagine you are an unscrupulous company selling product X in, say, the backpack market. To generate leads and draw attention to your product it is very easy to buy fake engagement on reddit where everyone is anonymous and there are targeted communities like /r/backpacks, /r/onebag etc. at a vastly more cost effective way than virtual any other social media platform.

If you're smart about it you don't even do it directly, e.g. "Product X Review - Amazing" but you wait for the inevitable "What's the best backpack to buy?" thread, and fake upvote fake comments like "I recently discovered Product X, very pleased with it for Y,Z reasons." I've been on the website many years and I still can't reliably tell what's real and what's fake.

For this reason I would never trust a reddit recommendation that was not cross-checked with other sources; those can be bought too, of course, but there's only so much market research you can do for small purchases.
