I guess on Reddit side, there aren't very accurate information shared with the members like RWI Community here.

I have been very honest that in RepTime, it seems every post in there by myself gets bashed and downvoted. Being one of the longest standing dealer since the early 2000s, I think a lot of members know that it takes a lot of grit and perseverance to stay that long in business. When I tried to be nice in Reddit Forums and in the end get bashed up by uninviting members, I knew the place seems to be "planted" with many other TD supported haters to bring others down. Not a nice thing IMHO.

That's my 2 cents worth. No bashing please. lol

Thanks for the reply, yes I was talking about the raids, more specifically a very public raid at a very big factory (not watches) and just wondered if maybe these were going to increase in future or if that would put anybody off putting an order in? Or at least sort of holding on to see how it plays out? Thanks
You’re talking about Pandabuy and other “agents”. Those agents aren’t factories, they’re warehouses and sourcers. That kinda stuff has little affect on watches, as they mostly deal with low tier reps.

I always find it interesting that certain members of the Reddit crowd keep claiming we get paid by TDs here. It makes me wonder if there is a bit of deflecting and projection going on. But that is just my suspicious mind possibly.

I was unaware that our TDs were being bashed on Reddit but I am not surprised. Countless Redditors come on here as one post wonders to bash TDs. There seems to be irrational expectations of what the Rep watch hobby is being purported on that platform and Amazon type expectations about the delivery of the service from TDs. A suspicious mind would possibly consider if there is an ulterior motive for coming on here just to bash.
Don’t forget they also like to get on RepTime and bash all of you mods for being complete liars, and middle aged losers without a life who gatekeep any real solutions and info.
They get pissed when they buy a watch after a few weeks in the echo chamber that Reddit is, don’t get what/when they expected, and come here to ask to be saved as a second post, only to be told….omg…..that they actually have to contribute and READ?!?!?! 😂 the sellers should send an extra maxi pad and tampon to everyone the sell to who mentions Reddit.

Wow, this is interesting. I did not realize that this was going on. That is no good.

You’d be amazed. Absolutely insulted as well. It’s like the inmates are running the asylum over there; the blind leading the blind.
It seems, mind you it’s just my opinion, to be rife with abundantly privileged millennials who expect instant gratification, and are entirely unwilling to do anything productive.at least that’s how their interactions sound. I heard better conversationalists in 7th grade.
Picture some Instagram influencer buying a stolen VanGogh after googling “where to buy a Van Gogh” or MAYBE searching the darkweb, then getting pissed when they find out it’s a fake, and telling the world what a terrible human the seller is, claiming “hey it’s still a business even if it’s illegal “. Then calling the authorities on them. It’s simply absurd. Spend a few days over there and attempt to give guidance.

This has been my experience as well. So sad really.

@trustytime , you’re absolutely correct. They ask for advice, and when, as someone as knowledgeable as yourself offers an answer that is correct and accurate but not what they want to hear, you’re gonna get downvoted into oblivion….theyre just irrelevant and don’t even know it.

They want to spend as much time shopping for a watch as they would a box of disposable pens. Then, when they regret it, they screw the entire rep community by encouraging each other to reverse charges.

HOWEVER, several TDs have realized that they’re dealing with an uneducated/unknowing bunch of people, and have taken advantage. I personally did a test of sorts, with another fairly long standing TD here who at one time had to earn his TD status back (I don’t want to bash, but if you’re curious who it was, PM me). I only mentioned the names “RepTime” and “Reddit”, I did not speak of RWI. I clearly stated that I only wanted a v2 of this watch, i would not accept a v1 , and stating the reasons why. I said that I didn’t mind waiting a few months if needed.
I was sent a v1. This guy has been a dealer for at least 15 years. When I called him out on it, he says “factory tell me it v2. Can you prove it not v2?” So I cited the differences. He then claimed “if factory say it v2 it v2. I am salesman for factory, and this is best version. You can send it back, but Chinese customs is VERY strict and I probably won’t receive the watch back. If I don’t get back I cannot refund, you will have to take loss. But here is address if you insist, freind.” So basically he said he won’t take it back or swap it.

What I learned is that SOME TDs, (not saying you!) have figured out how little that sun knows., and how impulsive they are.

I seriously hate to see our love of reps taking a turn like this.

@C Master please know that I don’t condone that kind of talk or behavior!!!! I should’ve said that what they say is baseless, and completely untrue.

I for one appreciate how much better you and the staff have made my experiences with reps, and wouldn’t know 1/1000 of what I do now if it weren’t for you guys doing what you do!

Yup. And every single one of the members there could have been an addition to our brotherhood, if they’d have simply humbled themselves just a tiny bit and admitted that just bc you can search the easiest and 1st links offered on the interwebz doesn’t make you informed.

I really try to help. I get bashed on. I get downvoted. I get called a boomer bc I recommend a forum instead of an app from the App Store. But I still try for some reason. We’ve acquired a few recruits as a result of this, and that’s a win in my book!

Oh no I get that 100%. You have become our official reporter on the "Rep scene in Reddit". Don't shoot the messenger and all that :) There are some good sub reddits but I have not been able to read much on reps there without having to take a shower after. I honestly find it unbearable.

I’ll be not the first to admit it: but as a total rookie in the world of reps, I stumbled onto this forum courtesy of Reddit. At first, I was genuinely fascinated by the fact that there was such a public space to discuss reps. But spending time there felt ... well, a bit like hanging out with Gen Z - the generation I happen to train professionally.
Let’s just say, constructive criticism isn’t exactly their strong suit. Everything has to be now, now, now - fast, cheap, and somehow still look expensive.

And they want answers - immediately. Like the likes on social media. And preferably only likes, only answers they want to hear - just no criticism. Criticism is bad.

Eventually, I followed a link to RWI and realized: This is more my scene. These days, I still drop by Reddit occasionally, mostly when I need a good laugh. Unfortunately, what I often find there doesn’t make me laugh - it just makes me want to cry.

Let me share a personal anecdote related to the lack of substantial knowledge in the r/Reptime subreddit.

I’ve been active on Audi-related subreddits ever since I bought an S-car earlier this year. Occasionally, I even help others out with their Audi issues on Reddit. What’s funny is that, more often than not, I’m the only one replying to technical questions with anything remotely helpful.

Here’s the hilarious kicker: I have absolutely no real knowledge about cars. 🤣 My understanding is basic at best—rudimentary, really—nothing anyone would call substantial. 😆

If I were posting on a traditional car forum, I’m pretty sure the regulars would laugh me off the site and maybe even ban me for my overly confident but underinformed replies.

I think it’s fair to say that most subreddits share a similar dynamic: a largely clueless Gen Z crowd with little to no real knowledge, often paired with a surprisingly toxic atmosphere. Honestly, I’ve had to block more people on Reddit than on any other platform—whether it’s a site, app, forum, or social media.

Like many people I inevitably end up on reddit at some point after a Google search - reddit spent vast sums of money destroying internet forums so when you're looking for info ironically all that's left is reddit - the place with no useful info.
I've noticed that the first half a dozen or posts after a question are usually something like 'wish I could help you bro but I have no idea', 'hope you get an answer soon', 'sub'd for the answer'
