Hi. Just a question regarding the same as the title as to why Geektime is not considered as TD. What qualifies to be a trusted rep dealer?

Geektime is a TD but not on this forum, on another forum.

I also thought this, I sent an email and was given a quote pretty quickly, just never pulled the trigger! Now I’m here and can see he’s not on the list maybe I should be glad I didn’t?

The first reason is because "Geek" is in the name, but I just live in a perpetually pissed off state over that...
If they offer significantly better pricing than what dealers here have now, they are welcome to apply if they wish.
They are trusted, I don't think anyone should hesitate to buy from them.

That’s good to know, I’m taking a different route currently but may go back to the email to follow up at a later date, just out of curiosity, do you think there is more of a crackdown happening over there at the moment and would that make you think twice about ordering? Thanks

@OnyxPlz if you are talking about the raids that have been going on then Geektime sources from the same factories as the TD's here. So if the TD's here are having to wait a little longer to get watches from the factories then Geektime will be having the same issues.
Thanks for the reply, yes I was talking about the raids, more specifically a very public raid at a very big factory (not watches) and just wondered if maybe these were going to increase in future or if that would put anybody off putting an order in? Or at least sort of holding on to see how it plays out? Thanks

Nope. This is the only forum i was in... I remember before there was a post regarding dealers and comments who is bwst in communication etc.. but couldn't find it even usinh search...
With such a comprehensive list of TDs right here, I’m not sure what possible reason anyone would have to go somewhere else…

I find RepTime to be a totally different crowd entirely.
Quite a lot of people who are controlled by some dealers over there to downvote on TDs like myself and some others.
I have been really nice with the crowd but I think there is a lot of negative things going around and so I rather be staying in RWI Forums.

I always find it interesting that certain members of the Reddit crowd keep claiming we get paid by TDs here. It makes me wonder if there is a bit of deflecting and projection going on. But that is just my suspicious mind possibly.
I was unaware that our TDs were being bashed on Reddit but I am not surprised. Countless Redditors come on here as one post wonders to bash TDs. There seems to be irrational expectations of what the Rep watch hobby is being purported on that platform and Amazon type expectations about the delivery of the service from TDs. A suspicious mind would possibly consider if there is an ulterior motive for coming on here just to bash.

Wait, so you are telling me I can’t order a watch get it sourced, QCed and delivered to my doorstep all within 2 days from China? Come on it’s 2024 now!!
Honestly though, this hobby isn’t anything like Amazon but I have been extremely satisfied with all the TDs I have ever worked with. I know with certain models etc there can be delays but the rep watch community has come a long way in the last 15 years and think the TDs are mostly exceptional. But then again, this hobby isn’t cut out for everyone and some people love to trash talk.
